...See more I've been in therapy now for a while now for an eating disorder, and I've realized that these weekly sessions aren't facilitating recovery, in fact I have yet to be at a stable place since starting therapy. Since it's now the summer months and there isn't school anymore, I'm revisiting the idea of whether or not to pursue inpatient or intensive outpatient. I've begun to struggle more, and it's my fear that if we switch therapists and try to add once weekly nutritionist appointments, we'll be losing these crucial weeks to end the behavior as soon as possible in more of a controlled environment. Because I'm now out of school trying to navigate the thick of this, I'm worried about the decline worsening. So my question is when do I consider inpatient, or more intensive options? I want this vicious cycle to end so badly, I'm just at a loss for the professional support that's cruicial to making it possible to recover.

...See more Hi friends, I'm not totally sure where to post this so I'm going to put it here. For the last 4 years I've struggled with body image, on and off avoiding meals, heavy excercise, and things like that. I've been able to overcome kind of this fear of food but recently it's felt crippling. The last 6 weeks have been really tough. There's so much anxiety behind eating and in turn it's made me fearful to gain weight. It started as being too anxious due to school to eat but then the need to keep it this way and more has been overwhelming. I've always had a thing with associating things in broad categories of "clean" and "dirty" so lately this obsessive behavior has included food and body image. Meals have gotten progressively more difficult and I don't know what to do or think. I've begun to fall back into what I was dealing with a few years ago and it feels like I'm locked in. There's no desire to change, even though I know I have to. I'm trying to find a therapist for anxiety and depression at the moment, but I'm not sure how to tell my parents I'm concerned this is turning into an eating disorder. Ahh, I really don't know what to do☹️
