Listening to the Quiet Within 😇
Mindfulness Center / by SimplyCompassionate
Last post

...See more In our busy lives, there is always noise -conversations, responsibilities, commitments, and endless thoughts or worries. But beneath all of that, there is often a quiet space within us. A place where we can pause, breathe, and simply be ourselves. Mindfulness is not about stopping our thoughts, but about gently noticing them without judging ourselves. Sometimes, just sitting with our feelings for a moment can bring a great clarity. ✨ When you slow down and listen to yourself, what do you usually discover about your thoughts or feelings? Feel free to share whatever comes to your mind. Sometimes putting it into words helps us understand ourselves a little better. 😊

After 35… life had other plans
35 & Over Community / by SimplyCompassionate

...See more Man proposes, God disposes. Somewhere after 35, many of us realise life didn’t follow the plan we once had. Things changed - work, relationships, health, priorities. Some days we’re okay with it, some days it still stings. We can talk about those twists and turns, without fixing or judging- just sharing.  • What’s one plan life changed for you? • How are you dealing with it now?

Trust – Built Slowly, Felt Deeply
IDG 7 Cups Hub / by SimplyCompassionate
Last post
February 8th
...See more The real meaning of trust is a confident belief in the honesty, reliability, and ability of someone or something, leading to a willingness to be vulnerable and depend on them, encompassing feelings of faith, reliance, and responsibility, and even having legal meanings like managing property for others. It's built on consistency and expectation, meaning you believe they will act in your best interest. Trust is something I’ve come to see as very delicate. It’s not built in big moments but in small, everyday actions. Keeping your word, listening without judgment, respecting boundaries—these are the things that slowly create trust. For many of us, trusting others isn’t easy. Past experiences can make us cautious or guarded, and that’s completely understandable. Sometimes we protect ourselves so much that we stop letting people in. Trust feels risky, but it’s also what allows real connection to happen. I’ve also realized that trust starts with trusting myself. When I listen to my inner voice and respect my own feelings, it becomes easier to know who feels safe to open up to. Self-trust helps with setting boundaries and choosing relationships that feel balanced and respectful. In my personal opinion, when trust is broken, rebuilding it takes time and effort. Honest conversations, taking responsibility, and consistent actions matter more than words. Trust doesn’t mean perfection - it means showing up, again and again, in a sincere way. What helps you trust someone more over time? How has your relationship with self-trust changed as you’ve grown?

Empathy & Compassion – Just Being There
IDG 7 Cups Hub / by SimplyCompassionate
Last post
March 23rd
...See more Empathy is feeling with someone, understanding and sharing their emotions. Compassion is feeling for someone and being moved to act to help relieve their suffering; empathy is the understanding, but compassion adds the motivation to alleviate pain, preventing the burnout that can come with pure empathy.  I’ve noticed that empathy is not about having the right words. It’s more about how we listen and how present we are with someone. Many times, when a person shares something difficult, they don’t really want advice. They just want to feel understood. I’ve caught myself wanting to fix things quickly, offer solutions, give reassurance, or change the topic so it feels lighter. But over time, I’ve learnt that simply staying with the feeling can be far more comforting. Empathy is about allowing space for emotions, even when they feel uncomfortable. Empathy doesn’t mean taking on someone else’s pain or ignoring our own limits. It just means showing up with care, respect, and honesty. Sometimes, that alone can make a person feel less alone. Compassion shows up in small ways. It might be listening completely without judging them, saying “that sounds really hard,” or just letting silence exist. I also feel compassion is something we often forget to give ourselves. We expect ourselves to be strong all the time and feel guilty when we struggle. Being kind to ourselves is just as important as being kind to others.  What makes you feel truly heard when you share something personal? How easy or difficult is it for you to show compassion to others or to yourself?
