Should I feel discouraged

...See more My birthday is coming up and I'm not really excited. My last birthday I had it all going for me. I had just graduated college, got situated into a good job, had a girlfriend who loved me unconditionally, etc but between now and then, It all fell apart. Lost everything in life but the job and the job hasnt been going the best. The job is trending up again now but with my birthday coming up again I'm scared the year won't be what I want/need it to be. Is it ok to feel discouraged or should I feel optimistic again?

Losing the love of my life

...See more I'm struggling everyday with wanting to get her back or let her go knowing I'll never find love as good. For 2 years we meant everything to each other and were inseparable. We had plans for our lives going forward. I graduated college and couldnt stay while she was starting a new school to finish her degree. The distance hurt us more than we both shared because we just desired to be around each other but circumstances prevented it initially. We ended up breaking up because it was just so hard on her and she was able to find peace after a few months but now, 6 months from the breakup she feels she doesn't love me anymore and everything we lived are just memories. We still know each other really well but she just wants to be alone with no one right now. I can deal with that but I'm scared she may never love me again and the only reason we broke up was for her to heal from the distance. We had no ill will toward each other. I plan to go see her soon because she still has stuff that I own but I don't want it to become worse. My heart cries out for her but I'm just afraid she will never answer again.
