Struggling with diagnosis
OCD & Related Behaviors / by Sunny1721

...See more Hi everyone, I had an appointment with a psychiatrist last week and he mentioned in passing that I am “obsessive”. I asked if he meant OCD and he said yes, but said we should focus instead on treating my anxiety and panic attacks right now, which will also help my depression and OCD. I’m really struggling with this new diagnosis. I find myself rejecting it, as my symptoms don’t seem to be as bad as others- I never would have guessed I have ocd, and as someone who has health anxiety I always hyperfixate on researching any symptoms I have to find diagnoses. I’ve also noticed though that I reject medical diagnoses I receive and always think the doctor is missing something. Is this an OCD presentation anyone can relate to? I feel so alone and crazy right now, just looking for any support you can give.

Does anyone else have pain?

...See more Hi guys, I was diagnosed with Generalized Anxiety Disorder and Depression about 6 months ago. For years I've dealt with chronic migraines and headaches, joint pain, muschle aches, and extreme fatigue, sometimes where I'm so tired I have to cancel plans because I just want to go to bed. I also have a lot of trouble sleeping because I'm in pain and I just overall move around so much in my sleep that it wakes me up. I thought I might have an autoimmune disorder, so I went to a doctor for bloodwork. Everything came back pretty normal except for some indicators of inflamation in the body, but my doctor thinks most of my pain is caused by depression. I was curious if anyone else experienced this? I'd never heard of physical pain being a depression symptom. I also feel terrible becasue all of my fatigue and pain is apparently all in my head. I've tried a few different medications and nothing seems to help, so I'm feeling super discouraged and low. Please share your experience so I don't feel so crazy and alone. Thanks guys, Sunny

...See more Hi guys, I'm relatively new here and seeking help or feedback with a problem I am having. My boyfriend and I are long distance and I've noticed that whenever we get done talking on the phone, no matter how long we've talked and how great the conversation has been, I get terrible anxiety about hanging up. Sometimes this manifests in me being sad or angry for no reason, and has led to so many pointless arguments. My boyfriend expressed concern that he feels I pick an argument at the end of our conversations just because I know he'll stay on the phone then- and I think I might subconsciously be doing this. We can be having the most wonderful time talking for two hours and then we we start to say goodbye, I panic and get really sad or anxious. Part of me thinks this could be tied to the fact that our relationship has been rocky in the past and I felt he wasn't giving me enough time. However, he's done a great job of making more time for me so this isn't an issue. I also get anxious-jealous when he hangs out with his friends because I know I won't be able to talk to him for awhile. It's causing me to come off as really clingy and making me feel terrible, but I don't know how to stop it. Has anyone ever experienced something like this before? Or do you have advice on how to fix this? I don't want it to cause any more problems. Thanks for reading this and trying to help ❤️ -Sunny
