Phone anxiety (but it
Hi guys,
I'm relatively new here and seeking help or feedback with a problem I am having. My boyfriend and I are long distance and I've noticed that whenever we get done talking on the phone, no matter how long we've talked and how great the conversation has been, I get terrible anxiety about hanging up. Sometimes this manifests in me being sad or angry for no reason, and has led to so many pointless arguments. My boyfriend expressed concern that he feels I pick an argument at the end of our conversations just because I know he'll stay on the phone then- and I think I might subconsciously be doing this. We can be having the most wonderful time talking for two hours and then we we start to say goodbye, I panic and get really sad or anxious.
Part of me thinks this could be tied to the fact that our relationship has been rocky in the past and I felt he wasn't giving me enough time. However, he's done a great job of making more time for me so this isn't an issue. I also get anxious-jealous when he hangs out with his friends because I know I won't be able to talk to him for awhile.
It's causing me to come off as really clingy and making me feel terrible, but I don't know how to stop it. Has anyone ever experienced something like this before? Or do you have advice on how to fix this? I don't want it to cause any more problems.
Thanks for reading this and trying to help ❤️
