I did a thing with food

...See more I am proud of myself because I just had a meal, and before having the meal I told myself that I'm actually going to enjoy it. I'm not going to rush it, I'm not going to get it over with because it's pointless and I want to go back to my room, and I'm not going to choose to eat something because I can finish it quickly or because it doesn't take a long time to prepare. So I sat down and enjoyed the first proper meal that I've had in a long time. I took my time with every bite, I made sure that I was able to smell the food, and I focused on enjoying every bite of my plate. I even had dessert because I wanted to congratulate myself, and not because I was going through a depressive episode and decided to binge-eat. This was the first meal in a very long time that I could appreciate, and it lifted my mood by a considerable amount. Yay me :)

...See more I joined 7Cups depressed and lonely. I didn't care about myself. I hated who I am. I despised every aspect of my life and considered the people in it as nuisances. I can't say that I'm fully healed or that I've mastered control over my life. But what I can say is that, right now in this moment, I am smiling. I am genuinely smiling and I feel happy. I've only been on 7Cups for a little over a week and I figured out how I can take control of my mind once negative thoughts pop in it (I like watching the cute animal videos - my favorite ones are the Little Duckling and Goats in Pyjamas videos <3). I'm certain that I'll have many relapses, and I'm certain that dark times are ahead. But I want this post to be a reminder to myself that at some point, I managed to smile and feel happy. I may still be battling depression, and I may not have someone in my life who I'm comfortable enough to talk to about my problems with, but I'm smiling, ~~~And I got a life to live!~~~ I'm going to end this post by quoting the famous words of Sheldon Cooper from The Big Bang Theory who happened to be quoting Spock from Star Trek, "Live Long and Prosper!". Cheers, ~Lantern~
