Bio

I am recovering from a long term meth addiction with schizophrenia and severe depression as secondary induced disorders. I've struggled with my mental health my entire life and have had many suicide attempts and hospitalizations. But I also had years of wellness where I attended college as a philosophy major and graduated with high honors. I've seen a lot of death in my family and I lack much of a support system these days. I tend to isolate and dwell on my problems. Recently I feel stuck in a spot where I have been trying to better my life but I don't know if I can get things together much more than this. I have been trying to forgive my family for leaving me alone and trying to rebuild the relationships with some of them after I was too busy using to be there like I should have. I've made a lot of mistakes and I messed my life up pretty good. But I'm almost out of all legal trouble and I'm trying to distance myself from toxic people, users, and people who don't care about anyone but themselves. I fear that I will end up more so alone than not or that I will circle back and end up with the same people that I need to get away from. I feel trapped in a situation with a man who is abusive in phycological, emotional, and financial ways. Being on disability makes it hard for me to support myself and people know that and some of them take advantage of me. I don't have anyone else to help stand up for me and I try to stand up for myself but normally end up just leaving those people alone to take advantage of someone else. I'd rather try once and lose and friend than to be manipulative and act like they do. I've been homeless on and off several times and I've survived sexual abuse as a teenager from an older man who was my bf at the time (I was 13, he was 18). I have taken myself out of bed situations before and I'm trying to be strong enough to do so again. However, this time I feel more lost and hopeless than I ever have before. My addiction changed me and my mindset and I struggle to get and stay clean even though I've been in treatment for almost 3 years now. I am also in mental health treatment and I am trying to utilize my resources in order to get back on track but addiction has been the hardest thing I've ever tried to overcome. However, I used to bang and have been off the point for over a year now which has been a major step in my recovery. I'm not giving up until I make it, even if I end up in jail for a little while or if I lose everything I have left, I will keep trying.

...See more I've been using speed of some kind since I was 13, I am 39 now. I started with diet pills and Adderall then crank and now ice. Speed has been a part of my life and who I am for so long that I don't know what to do with myself when I try to get and stay sober. I've been in recovery for 3 years now because I have hallucinations and delusions and need to be medicated. But I'm a frequent relapser. When I'm sober I feel so depressed and worthless. Like, I don't know what to do with myself and I don't know who to be. I used to be a good family member and friend then I was a junkie shooting up and lost everything I had and everything I was as a person. Now that I'm trying to figure things out it's hard to find anything that I care about anymore. I don't have any hobbies or interests. I try to write still to help work through my past and I work on being kind to people. But I have few friends and family that are willing to reconnect with me and a bunch of *** people from active addiction that still try to disrespect me and I have had to walk away from a lot of people even though I want to be friends with some people, I don't want to risk the progress I've been making. My illness makes it hard to trust people and I am so sick of people who only want to hook up (aka one night stands type stuff). I deserve to have at least a friendship and my hallucinations make anything like that hard to do. People think that I'm making it up but I hear things and feel things that aren't there and I don't want to hook up with anyone when it triggers my hallucinations. It's hard for me to make friends with people and I don't know what to do. People always talk about how brave and strong people with mental health issues are until they have an episode and they refuse to be touched and start talking back to nothing and so forth then people don't know how to handle it or they get frightened. It frightens me too! But I don't get to walk away from my illness when I can't handle it! I feel so isolated and alone and misunderstood. It's next to impossible for me to try to make a lasting connection with anyone new. Any suggestions on how to make friends or how to try to date with my problems? I deserve to be respected and loved and understood. But I normally shut down and self isolate when things don't go so well. I know I'm not as emotionally mature as I should be and I'd love to talk to someone who could help me with that and with learning to better communicate rather than shut down. Thanks everyone.

...See more I swear I'm being stalked by the devil and he's kidnapped my child. I'm a long term meth user (started with diet pills and Adderall then crank and now ice). I've been diagnosed with schizophrenia and have been struggling with treatment for co occuring disorders for about 3 years now. But even when I'm sober I feel like the devil is all around me. Plus when I'm sober I feel so depressed that I don't want to do anything in my life. I struggle to feed myself and care for my basic needs. I don't have many people in my life that could help me and actually care about me. My hallucinations and delusions keep me from doing anything more in my life than trying to make it stop.
