The helping hand
Trauma Support / by angel404101

...See more It is relatively easier to give advice and receive one after the trauma is over. When you are away from the source. You have the mind space to process what happened and how to move forward to a better place and state of mind.. You have some time to reach out and start healing.. You might be blessed with a moment of silence and a sigh of relief.. But what do you do when you are still stuck in the quick sand, and every time you try to move forward you keep sinking deeper? When the source of your trauma is still lingering around you? When there is no one to be trusted and there is no helping hand? The best advice I heard was to never stop focusing on yourself. Educate yourself, build yourself mentally and physically, work on yourself in every possible way, and never stop. Find an online job, take free courses online, learn new languages, start practicing meditation, exercise if you’re physically capable, focus on your mind and body connection and make it your #1 goal to be independent and move on to a better place. A place where you have autonomy over your life. The helping hand is your hand. Because no matter how much external help you get, the will comes from within. And only then when you reach out, you are giving yourself the extra support you deserve, with a strong foundation already in the making. When you make yourself the center of your world, you will pour all the energy left in you and only you. And you will rise above it all. I hope we can all help ourselves rise and fly, and have the voices to speak up, and have the freedom we all deserve, and get the support we all need to be in the best place for us all. Note to self 💙

Crying helps

...See more I’ve been in the darkest place for quite a long time now. I am alone mentally, physically surrounded by millions who think I am “doing great, optimistic and positive”. Am I very good at masking, or people just don’t care to notice? I randomly have severe crying episodes. Everything just floods in. The trauma, the downfalls, the unworthiness. It all comes out at the weirdest times. But honestly, i feel much more relieved after letting it out. I mean, the dark cloud is still there roaming over my head 24/7.. but it’s the momentary relief. It’s the silence and the last sigh. “I feel better, for now at least.”

...See more Share the small things that you do to feel better when you’re in a dark time. I’ll go first. A creamy cup of cappuccino with dark chocolate (gotta engage my other senses) ☕️ a reminiscent episode of Tom and Jerry (Gotta dissociate from all the seriousness) 🤪 and a sheet mask if am feeling extra ✨Fancy✨ I also found that journaling does help me regulate my emotions, and audio journaling works best for fellow ADHDers. 🥂 Lemme know what helps you out 💗
