...See more Hello! I'm a high school student and I'd really live to be able to find a casual job somewhere. Preferably a retail outlet or something. The only problem is my social anxiety is making it really difficult. Its not as bad as it used to be since I started taking medication, but I still feel like it's getting in the way. I've tried at at quite a few different places now, none of which have gotten back to me. There was one where I got a phone interview, but I didn't get the job. My resume is fine and I've done plenty of volunteering, but I'm worried I'm not putting myself across as confident enough. The worst part of it is my shaky voice and the fact that I freeze up. It isn't voluntary, but I'm just left standing there, my face burning, unable to say anything, or pick up the phone if they are ringing me from an unknown number. Its very frustrating. I'm just wondering if anybody else here has struggled the same looking for a first job, and if so, how did you manage to overcome it? Thank you :)
