I feel like I'm suffocating in fear

...See more Hi everyone! First of all I would like to say that my anxiety has not been professionally diagnosed. The psychologist I went to didn't believe in labeling people, so he never really gave me a clear answer if I have it or not. So I'm sorry if this doesn't belong in this thread. This has been one reason of my concern. I feel like the people arround me don't really understand me at all sometimes. When I try to explain what I feel, they brush it off and say that I just shouldn't worry too much. It makes me feel like maybe I'm just overreacting and it's just my own fault I feel this way. That is the first problem that's bothering me a lot right now. The second problem is just everything is becoming too much for me right now. The fact that I'm constantly stressing over everything that's going to happen in the future, terrified that I will screw everything up. The fact that I have my exams soon and instead of studying, I'm doing everything to avoid doing just that. Once I start studying it just freaks me out, because I feel like I'm going to fail. My parents see this and try to persuade me to study by putting more pressure on me. Saying things like "If you don't pass for at least 3/4 of your classes, you're going to stop University and just work." The pressure is just so much that it keeps me awake at night. I barely sleep 3-4 hours a night because of all the overthinking and anxiety I feel. At this moment everything is just becoming too much.

Falling asleep

...See more Hi! Lately I've been overthinking a lot while trying to fall asleep. This usually happens when I get more stressed out or anxious during the day. I feel as if I can't seem to shut off my brain at night. Now my solution is to just stop my overthinking everything by reading or watching videos. Only falling asleep when I can't keep my eyes open. This is as you can guess late at night around 4-5 am. The tiredness isn't helping with getting stressed out either, so I get stuck into a viscous loop. I was wondering if anyone has some tips to be able to stop overthinking and worrying and just fall asleep?

Is this social anxiety?

...See more Hi! I'm not sure if I have social anxiety or not and it's something I would like to know somehow. So I guess I'll just tell you my story. Basically, for the past 5 years I think I've been dealing with this. Feeling awkward and scared in groups and when meeting new people. Feeling like people are judging me or just don't like me. Feeling terrified of what people might me thinking about me and thinking about what awkward thing I said over and over again. In the beginning I used to not even want to order anything for myself, forcing my family or friends to do it for me. After getting a job at a restaurant and being forced to talk to people, that has disappeared. When I was in high school, whenever I had to give a presentation I was completely shaking from stress. One time this lead to a panic attack. Now I'm in University, luckily I don't have to deal with it anymore. Somehow I do keep pushing myself to do stuff I later regret. I stupidly decided to join a form of sorority, which required a kind of hazing to join. This lead to two more panic attacks. Then I decided it would be a great idea to join the "planning team" of the sorority thing. Until I had to have meetings and give my opinion about things. This gives me a lot of stress, but I can't back out of it anymore as it was my choice to join. I've currently fallen back into not being able to sleep because of overthinking everything. I get 2-3 hours approximately. I'm not sure if it really is social anxiety.
