Struggling with family and new dog
Grief & Loss / by daydreamer2421

...See more my family impulsively adopted a puppy recently without discussing it with everyone. My two dogs died less than two years ago and I’m still having a really hard time with losing them. We lost four cats and two dogs within only a little over a year, and it’s been so hard. I love our new puppy so much but sometimes it’s hard when I wasn’t really ready for a new dog yet. My family keeps using my old dogs leashes for her and now they lost one and just moved onto the next one from my old dogs. This is really hard because now anytime I take our new puppy out on a walk I have to use my old dogs leashes and I want what we use to just be for the new puppy, not from my old dogs. And I don’t have a license or car and can hardly get rides places so it’s hard for me to go get her a new leash myself. What do I do?

Controlling parents
Relationship Stress / by daydreamer2421

...See more I need advice. I’m 21 and only now realizing how controlling my parents are. They don’t want me going certain places, having certain relationships, etc. After some recent events and how they’ve been behaving, I don’t really feel comfortable telling them much about my life any more. They’ve lost those privileges. But I still want to have some sort of relationship with them, just with distance between them and my life choices and what I’m doing. How can I still have conversations with them while avoiding details about my own life? What are we supposed to talk about?

Codependency struggles
Relationship Stress / by daydreamer2421

...See more I feel like I’m getting stuck in a codependent relationship and I’m scared. I need help figuring out how to handle this because I want to ask him for space and if all our conversations for awhile can be light and casual instead of so much heaviness but I’m worried he’s going to freak out over it. I want us back together so badly but I don’t feel emotionally safe with him right now, am noticing a lot of red flags, and realized how codependent we are.
