Hello! I am having surgery on 4/9/2024, and will be taking the time I need to recover. I will not be able to respond to messages immediately during this time.

Thank you for your understanding!♥️

💖Hi there💖

I am so glad you’re here, and that you feel able to share things that may be difficult for you to open up about. I’m here to listen and be a shoulder to lean on when you need it the most. Sometimes just being there for someone is enough. This is a no-judgement zone.

I have had a lot of direct-lived experiences with mental and physical health issues, and completely understand what it is like to be misunderstood or unheard and having no one to turn to. Feeling alone and isolated in your own body is extremely hard. However, I’ve discovered over time that this actually tends to be when you need the support the most. Please let me be that person for you during these difficult moments.❤️

I want you to be able to feel comfortable talking with me, but if you feel like I am not understanding you correctly and you would prefer to talk to someone else, I completely understand and would not take this personally. Please just let me know as I will be able to recommend someone for you and your specific needs.

I have some personal triggers relating to medical topics, but I will be sure to let you know during the chat if this is the case at any point. I appreciate your understanding with this.

I am studying at university right now and it can get pretty hectic at times. Whilst I am fast to respond when I am online, this will not be the case for the rest of the day. Please be patient with me, I will respond as soon as I am able to😊

Come and Learn About Cerebral Palsy 💚

...See more March is Cerebral Palsy Awareness month, and as a fellow CP warrior myself, I’m honoured to be creating this post! What is CP? Cerebral Palsy is a term used to describe a group of motor conditions that causes physical disability in development - specifically movement, posture and balance. Cerebral - refers to the cerebrum, the area of the brain affected - this controls movement and coordination.  Palsy - refers to the physical condition the damage causes - paralysis or weakness of muscles, affecting a person’s control of their movement. What Causes CP? Cerebral Palsy is caused by damage to the brain, during pregnancy, birth or shortly after birth (known as a traumatic brain injury). This damage occurs when a part of the brain (cerebrum) is not able to receive enough oxygen, due to a blockage or bleed, causing the neurons to die. This results in irreversible damage and physical disability. Types of CP: 💚 Hemiplegic CP: Affects one side of the body, typically causing muscle weakness or stiffness in the arm and leg on that side. 💚 Monoplegic CP: Affects one limb, usually an arm or leg. 💚 Diplegic CP: Primarily affects the legs, often resulting in muscle stiffness and difficulty with walking. 💚 Quadriplegic CP: Affects all four limbs, typically causing severe muscle stiffness and significant challenges with mobility and coordination. 💚 Spastic CP: This refers to cerebral palsy characterized by muscle stiffness and tightness (spasticity). It affects movement and posture, making movements awkward and sometimes jerky. 💚 Dyskinetic CP: involuntary, uncontrolled movements that can affect the whole body or specific parts, such as the arms or legs. 💚 Ataxic CP: Affects balance and coordination. Individuals with ataxic CP may have shaky movements, particularly when attempting fine motor tasks or walking. 💚 Mixed CP: involves a combination of features from different types of cerebral palsy. This can include a mix of spastic, dyskinetic, and/or ataxic symptoms, making the condition more complex. 💚 Hypotonic CP: low muscle tone, leading to floppy or loose muscles. It can affect coordination and may result in difficulties with posture and movement control. Symptoms People With CP May Suffer From: 💚 Muscle stiffness or spasticity 💚 Impaired coordination and balance 💚 Difficulty with fine motor skills 💚 Speech and communication challenges 💚 Seizures 💚 Joint contractures or deformities 💚 Intellectual disabilities or learning difficulties 💚 Sensory impairments such as vision or hearing problems 💚Gastrointestinal issues 💚Respiratory problems 💚 Chronic pain Do you have any questions about Cerebral Palsy? ...See more Hi everyone! The last few days of February are approaching, and I want to find out more about how you’re managing during this time. Sometimes, it can be hard to transition into a new month, because of health, appointments, treatment, or other things on our schedule. It can become overwhelming, and anxiety inducing. This can have a negative (or positive!) impact on our condition.  My questions to you are: - Are you nervous about the thought of February ending and March approaching?  - What usually helps you to manage the transition into a new month, especially if it’s a tough one? - How are you planning to include some self care into your week? - How can we support you during this time?
