Is it over forever?
Relationship Stress / by inventiveCoconut8422

...See more My boyfriend of 4 (on and off) years and I just broke up. He was previously in the military so our relationship was long distance but we finally now got to live in the same area. We thought that would fix a lot of our problems but it seemed to create their own. We spend a lot of time fighting and reliving our old pain. We decided it was time to break up and even if it seems for the best sometimes, it still hurts like hell. He is my one and only love so far in my life, which makes this all that much harder. We're leaving with no hard feelings because we know there's just been so much that's made the relationship at this point impossible to repair. Im living on the idea that although it might not be now, someday things might work out. I'm scared to lean on this concept because I don't want to inhibit myself from moving on, but I'm not sure how to do that or really even if it's wrong to think. I'm just looking for any advice on ways to overcome this heartbreak or thoughts on if this can ever be repair with the necessary time away.

Long Distance Struggles

...See more I've been with this guy for about 4 years, on and off. We've been long distance for the entire relationship as he's in the military and I've been in school. I come from a toxic family, and faced a lot of emotional neglect and verbal abuse growing up, and it's created a lot of struggles in my adult life, especially with our relationship. When first meeting him, I didn't know how to love someone properly and caused him damaged. The first year of our relationship was tough due to, but I've worked to make big changes in this area of myself and have succeeded. Unfortunately, this doesn't change the hurt I already caused. Our relationship has really been nothing but an emotional rollercoaster since. We've gone through two deployments in the last two years making it harder (currently deployed). We ended things in summer before he left because of numerous issues but got back together in December. We were really happy until about a month ago I started getting defeated in our relationship as it had been 8 months since I've seen him. he ended up ending things because he felt it was all just the same as before. I know this all sounds like a typical toxic relationship but when we're in the presence of one another it's so great. I care about him so much, and I just don't know if this is something I keep trying to fight for or if I'm beating a dead horse at this point? Any advice is appreciated ♥️
