I'm stuck in a limbo

...See more Lately I've just been feeling tired overall of everything going on around me. My parents have been pressuring me to find a job since I turned 18, and my now dad is threatening to send me back to Mexico or to the US to work in the fields if I don't make an effort- despite me making an active effort :( and showing him screenshots etc to prove it. For some background: When my depression got to a limit I sought out a psychologist to get a confirmed diagnosis and my family doctor started me on antidepressants. In all honesty it feels like the medication hasn't really kicked in (despite it being around 2 months now) because part of what is causing my depression is still going on daily. And although I know how ssri's work, I can't help but feel that way. One of the main stressors I'm facing right now is the fact that my parents keep pushing for me to get a job- which isn't an issue as I agree with them- however, I have applied to 20 something jobs already and none of them has called back. Part of the reason I assume, is because I don't have much experience in the retail scene (being that I didn't work as a teen). Another reason I'm starting to think is because they'd rather take people with experience than train someone- despite them openly saying that they are more than happy to offer training. This is one thing. Another thing is that other jobs that offer good pay despite not having experience (for example cleaning) often require you to have your license. Which I don't, and the thing is, I would 100% get it if it weren't for my parents. My so-called psychologist made a comment regarding the fact that I'm 18 and still passing everything through my parents (which felt pretty insensitive considering I told her that they've threatened to kick me out before over smaller discussions). I've offered to pay for lessons out of my own money I've earned from another seasonal job I had in the past, but they always refuse saying that it's not worth it. But then they won't make an effort to teach me. So I'm just stuck in this limbo. Overall my parents have chosen to turn a blind eye to my depression and social anxiety despite having a letter from the psychologist explaining how I was showing suicidal tendencies amongst these two disorders. They just keep pushing for me to get a job and get my life together- and although I know they mean well- it's just degrading for my mental health honestly. My dad said "then lock yourself away in a psych ward" instead of "I'm sorry you feel that way" when they learned I was suicidal. Because to them I'm just being dramatic. I'm really scared of becoming suicidal again but there's just so much pressure in my life right now. If anyone has any advice or has been through something similar please reach out. Thank you.

...See more Tw: ED I've been struggling with overeating and skipping meals due to my body image and weight. So to try and help myself I've been planning to start a weight loss journey, not only for my physical health but for my mental health too. But motivation can be hard to keep so I thought maybe I could start a weight loss journey with someone by my side. I also have a lot of ideas for weight loss that don't necessarily require hitting the gym.

Who can diagnose mental illnesses?

...See more At the moment I can't help but feel useless with my symptoms of anxiety, and at times I feel like I'm lying about having it. I haven't been diagnosed since I don't have a specific family doctor I can just talk to, or a psychologist. Hence why I am asking; who can diagnose anxiety/depression? Can a regular doctor do so? I really need to know who I can go to because I experience those symptoms to the extent I get sick. I've experienced internal fevers, headaches, and nauseas in public (which have gotten to the point I had to vomit at a school bus transfer station). Please help if you know who can diagnose mental illnesses so I have that out of my mind. I'm a minor so I can't really seek something for myself.

Can anxiety/stress cause such symptoms?

...See more I'm not sure if anxiety can affect you to this extent, which is why I'm curious. It's not the first time I feel symptoms of a fever on the inside but I am as cold as a corpse on the outside. It first happened when I was feeling anxious about my final exams; two days before going to write them, I began to feel really cold even though I was burning up on the inside. I had chills and a bit of nausea, but I didn't have a fever. I was to find out that after I finished my finals the symptoms were gone. I thought I just made it up in my mind since I'm always being called dramatic or told I'm overreacting. The second time has happened today. I've been dreading going back to school on wednesday since I also experince symptoms of social anxiety. I'm constantly worried I'll mess something up or do something stupid like the last couple of years to make others judge me. I'm also too useless to fill out a form to see a counsellor, and it worries me because I've been overthinking about the fact that I never signed up for physics 20. Where the internal fever came again was today when my wifi kicked me out and I reset my chromebook. It needed wifi to be set up again, but we couldn't fix the router. I began panicking thinking about what I was going to do if classes began the day after tomorrow. Medication doesn't seem to help and I can't think of any breathing excercizes that can help me. *if you managed to read it all I appreaciate you so much 😭
