...See more My ex gf broke up with me 3 weeks ago. we decided to stay friends, and i actually wanted this. I am doing okay some days but when she texts me and we talk a little, i end up asking myself why she wants this. she broke up with me and i honestly feel a little replaced because she made some new friends and spends all her time with them, just when she decided to break up. it seems from my pov that she is either always hanging out sleeping over and never alone either because she doesn't want to be lonely or because she might be developing feelings for one of them (she denies this). now the question is what would you do in this case? i want to keep a friendship and i would never open up to her about how i feel now. but i'm having a hard time moving on and dealing with feeling replaced. and why do you think she wants a friendship with someone she clearly didn't want in her life anymore?

...See more Hi everyone, I wanted to share a little bit of what i've gone thru recently. I was with my girlfriend (now ex) for 2+ years and they have been very happy times. I truly loved her and i still do, however i had been dealing with jealousy once she made new friends and started hanging out with them more (we were long distance for a while) and even outside of that sometimes I let insignificant things bother me and caused big fights where I yelled and said things i'm not proud of. eventually she got tired of all the fighting and decided to break up for her own good which i understand. she wanted to stay friends and it's been good so far, we text sometimes and send each other funny things online, i have accepted that the relationship is over and I just want to be a good friend. But we had said, if it's meant to be we could try again in the future but she wants to see that i can truly change and not make empty promises, but for now I definitely need to focus on myself and change for myself not for our relationship. I am looking for advice on how to deal with my emotions better when i am upset, jealous or angry. i don't want to take it out on anyone anymore and i want to learn to stay calm through everything. often after our arguments i immediately regretted them because thinking with a clear mind made me realize it's not worth always picking fights. she was always loyal and never made me question her loyalty so the jealousy was more a result of other people getting to spend so much time with her when i can't because of distance. but now that we aren't together anymore, these challenging emotions don't happen often because i have no one to be jealous about and with friends i'm not as invested enough to get angry. so i am not sure how to work on being a better communicator when things get rough. i truly regret how i treated her and i wish to make it up to her somehow by being a real friend and showing her i can change and i don't want her to always remember me negatively

...See more My gf broke up with me recently, it ended on good terms, so we are trying to be friends. We had a special bond and have been dating for 2,5 years, but some of it was long distance. Now we are going to be long distance friends. I made mistakes during our relationship and my issues with controlling my emotions when I felt angry or jealous is what brought us here. I repeated the same mistakes I promised to change. She is not mad at me, just tired of waiting around for a change that seems to never happen. I now truly want to become a better person for myself and learn how to navigate my emotions better. I want to be a true friend to her because she deserves the best. I regret my mistakes and I know it was my fault that we ended up like this. We both cried and the love is still there, but because of our fights and issues we cannot be together. I think this is the best decision for her well-being and I want to get through this while also supporting her and showing her I truly regret it and I care for her. Maybe in the future if she notices the change she would be willing to try again but starting new. However I truly want to work on things for myself and not just in hopes of winning her back. I just need advice on anything I can do to start this changing process. I am also a student and it is stressful as it is, so I cannot pick up many new activities as I also work and do not have the time for many hobbies.
