...See more As today I celebrated my birthday, I just turned 26 and have been dealing with depression/anxiety since I was 13. It's been a bumpy road, sometimes I find myself at the top of a mountain and couldn't be happier, sometimes I'm so overwhelmed with fear and emotion that I just... either have a panic attack or take my prescribed medication to calm me down and then I'm just depressed. I've been in a bad boat for the past year. I want to blame it all on the anxiety but I can't. I have no interest in doing anything involving leaving the house for more than an hour or two. Everything I need for comfort/breathing room can be found within the confines of the walls I'm surrounded by. Idk. I'm so tired of feeling this way.. it's been so long..

...See more Going to finally do my part and get vaccinated today.. shots are not something that have affected me mentally before. But after getting covid last year, having a major panic attack, as well as an onslaught of various health issues at 26 years old I am TERRIFIED of getting this done but I know I need to. Luckily I have my prescription medication to calm me down before the appointment which is an hour away from now. I just don't want my previous physical ailments to return as they are just now starting to improve a little over a year later.. ugh..

...See more I feel trapped in my house but it's the only place I feel safe.. I never used to be this way until I suffered an awful panic attack last year out of the blue. I was home. My fiance took me to the emergency room and just got stares from everyone in the waiting room as I was pleading to the nurses and admins for someone to help me. No one ever tried to calm me down except for one nurse I will never forget. He was amazing. It's been a little over a year since then and I can sense the frustration is growing with my fiance as we can't really do date nights without me getting overwhelmed senses. If there is no exit plan? I'm not going. I'm tired all the time.. and I'm tired of myself.. I don't know why I can't just snap out of it. I've been in therapy for over six months now, I've been practicing mindfulness, meditation, read the book on the DARE response. All of which were helpful and pulled me out of my panic state, but now I'm still stuck with this anxiety and I just don't know what to do anymore.. I'm afraid to leave my "hidey hole" as I call our apartment but I want nothing more to go back out and explore the world.. but the world takes so much energy...

Soon to be married.. Not short of anxiety!
Relationship Stress / by peachHuman26

...See more Long story short I used to be able to better manage my anxiety but last year I had a major panic attack which has caused me to have anxious fits ruminating about the future with my soon to be husband. Despite my "going crazy" he decided he wanted to marry me anyway and has been so supportive through everything. We were going to wait until later of 2022 but, you know, marriage can make a financial situation a lot easier haha (plus honeymoons are extremely discounted due to covid this year!). So now we are getting married in a month and a half and the honeymoon is two and a half months away.. I love this man, he's my support system and my best friend, but now that it's all becoming real and we are no longer just talking about it I'm freaking outt. Seeing my last name changing.. thinking about how we are months away from potentially conceiving our first child together.. just has me panicked. I have always hated change. Change is my biggest struggle next to the unknown. And this is just a lot of change coming fast with a lot of unknowns to ruminate over.. sos.
