Is it better to seek the truth or to believe the lie?

...See more How do you believe someone when you know they are lying or at the least hiding things from you? Is it better in the long run to believe them if you love them or to continue to push for the truth no matter how bad it may be? The longer the lie exists, the bigger the lie is.

...See more We have been having some trouble lately. Specifically trust issues. She recently developed a relationship with a man online. Just a friendship she has so adamantly explains when questioned about it. She’s been keeping things from me and guarding her phone like a bear. I’ve caught her in lies and she just lies more when exposed. She has done nothing wrong and still wants to be married to me. But she won’t stop protecting and lying about the friendship even though she said she ended the friendship after he told her he developed feelings. I’m lost and confused in all this. I feel like a bystander in my own marriage. It’s given me terrible anxiety and I don’t know what to do. Thanks.

How can you trust someone after they’ve lied to you and you know they are still lying?

...See more My wife has a habit of keeping secrets from me. She says she’s only trying to protect me. But when she needs my help or overwhelmed with something she’s been keeping secret from me, how do I trust she’s not keeping larger more important things from me. She says she’s not cheating, but I’ve caught her in lies about a male friend she didn’t initially disclose to me. I trust her, but when I ask simple questions about who she’s talking to or where she went, I get a heated defensive response and she accuses me of not trusting her or being insecure. And the more I discover she’s lying about the louder and more defensive she gets until I drop it. How can I know for sure without pushing her further away? I love her and I love our family. Thanks.
