...See more Since when did we as a society let go of communication instead start ghosting? Yes, I agree there are times where ghosting is necessary when you have communicated and the other side responding negatively. However when ghosting is done before communication? This is where the real problem starts. Ghosting is the act of completely cutting off communication with someone suddenly with no explanation. It typically leaves the other person confused, unheard and misunderstood. This is usually done because of fear of responding and what will happen if actual, real and raw communication happens? Basically, it is done because of the fear of confrontation and sometimes, it is just done because they find it inconvenient to talk to the other person. But instead of talking it out, they just ghost.  This takes out the beauty of our centuries old skills of communication that have been passed on to us through our ancestors. Back in the past, languages didn't exist but they were created by humans to communicate with each other thousands of years ago. Thus, we created diverse languages all over the world to talk to each other, isn't that beautiful? Communication is such a beautiful thing if done in the right manner and at the right time. When was a time you had been ghosted with no explanation?

The world is in dire need of empathy and compassion

...See more Empathy means to put yourself in one's shoes while compassion means to have the need to do so. But what I have noticed nowadays is that the world is in dire need of empathy and compassion. If we had empathy and compassion, would our planet be suffering? Would the people on our planet be suffering? This is a sad truth most people don't acknowledge and stand up for. It breaks my heart to know that people stigmatize too much empathy more instead of too less empathy. This should be taught in schools from kindergarten so that the future generations can have a moral compass. Nowadays, GenZ (I am one of them so I can speak from my observation) has glamourized being 'nonchalant' where they hide emotions to the point of suppression. We should use social media to encourage positive acts such as charity to those who are in need instead of spending it on these trends which go away after a short period of time.  This is completely unhealthy and shouldn't be applauded for instead we should applaud those who have the strength and courage to be empathetic and compassionate.  Questions: What people in your life do you think are the most empathetic and compassionate? And how can you start adopting traits to be like them?
