My experience supporting someone with mental illness and my love for psychology inspired me to help others who might need it

My name is Alex. I like helping other people and making a positive difference in my community. I also enjoy hearing other people's stories and learning new perspectives. I prefer one-on-one and small group discussions over larger groups because I can contribute without having to fight to make myself heard, and without compromising my listening. I consider myself to be very fortunate in having received a caring family, a quality education, a safe home, and the freedom to be myself. My goal is to make you feel heard, understood, and supported with empathy, compassion and absolutely NO judgement.  I have been through many of my own struggles with mental health, so while I may not know exactly what you are experiencing, chances are I have been through something similar. Sometimes when we are struggling, it is hard to see the bigger picture ourselves. I don't just listen, I try to understand what is beneath the surface and kindly point out the patterns or perspectives you might have missed.  My goal is for our chats to feel comfortable, relaxed, and genuine, almost like talking to a friend.
