Feeling Behind

I recently turned 23 and I often have this feeling of being behind than other people my age. I have accomplished so much for my age like I have multiple degrees and actually do pretty well. However, I feel like I am behind when it comes to relationships. I never had a real relationship, and never reached the basic milestones of relationships. I really do not know how to put myself out there because I tried dating apps and I feel like I gain attention from the people that I do not want attention from. I rarely go anywhere so it is hard for me to meet people in person.

Talking stages never work for me due to me being able to notice what they want and their plans and instead of wasting time, I quickly remove myself.

How can I get myself back out there?

@shyLime7832

You should be proud of all you've achieved 🩷

It's not easy but it could help to join a club, that way you get to know someone face to face, no hidden agenda, you can test the vibe in reality, because most of what people say online isn't true!

You don't have to follow anyone else's timeline but your own 🩷

Hello @shyLime7832.

You aren't behind... you are ripening and maturing into a unique and special person.

When the time is right you will know it and you will truly understand the glory and splendor of what it means to be loved and appreciated...

There are of course many obstacles in your way, because all is fair in love and war..🌟

@shyLime7832 I also recently turned 23! No boyfriend, nothing even close, ever. Never had a first kiss, yet... I also feel insecure from time to time, but then i remember that, just as there is no "correct time" to graduate, get a job, leave your parents house, etc., there is also no correct time to fall in love, to start dating and such.

Also, dating is not a challenge of how many can you get, although some people may view it as such. If you are looking for a stable partner, then there is no telling. Some people have one partner they know since childhood and nothing more, some go through a lot of bad relationships for years till they find someone. Whos to say you wont meet your someone on your day to day life, slowly get to know eachother and be together?

I do, however, think that is never wrong to do things to meet new people. This year i joined a book club and started helping in a class from my university, i am meeting new people, but im not activetly looking for any new person to "be a potential relationship", im just making new friends. You may be preassuring yourself, because you feel theres something wrong with you if you dont have at least one relationship (no matter if good or bad), and that preassure wont let you actually meet and know those people.

My advice would be to not rush it, dont preassure yourself, you are not behind. And if you still feel like you are, then you are not alone, im there too 😉 Those app may not be the best place for what you are looking, but you can try to meet new people in activities YOU enjoy, YOUR hobbies. That way you will enjoy it no matter the result, because the result doesnt matter.

Wish you the best, im sure that you will find your someone, when the times is right
