Hii..need to talk about a break-up situation...just wanna get others opinion and maybe they have been through same situation..

My partner matched with a girl on *** using a fake ID just one day ago. Then, he gave that girl his real ID, accepted her friend request, and started talking to her. He had thoughts of starting a situationship with her—he wanted to flirt or possibly cheat. He talked to her for two full days, and during those two days, he was  talking to her as well as me and then he delated all the mssg today and 2 hours before telling me he told the girl to end ..he delated the mssg bcoz hr decided not to tell me then out of guilt he did ... But he didn’t tell me anything. He was hiding it from me.

This happened 10 days ago to me ..and now we broke up today ...

We tried to get back to normal ..but I was not able to forget this thing...

I think maybe it was a small mistake but it affected me so much ...my feelings for him were not the same i trusted him like blindly and ..I just wanna know did I overreact??....I just couldn't be the same ..I didn't have the same excitement as I had before ...I mean we were together for 2 years and now I am sacred ...did I overreact...should I have tried to force myself to stay and then maybe things would have gotten better ?

I mean did something like this ever happen to anybody of uh ??

I don't think it's me to judge if your breakup decision was timely and right, but I think that on the emotional level you did NOT overreact. Someone to whom you trusted flirting behind your back? It must feel terrible!

I see two factors here: the result and the reason.

The result is your (ex) boyfriend trying to contact this girl on the internet. As he changed his mind in time and felt guilty, we almost might forget this part of the story and go on.

But what had been the reason why he started to look for flirting with some else in the first place? Had he any bad intentions? Was he just bored? Or was he trying to check if he still had any value in the relationships area? Or maybe you had some silent days?

Whatever it was, that's the reason. And I think as long as you both are unable to fix that, such situations could repeat and be working for the harm of your relationship.

Maybe that taught your boyfriend a lesson he is not gonna forget for the rest of his life (he felt guilty and felt the urge to confess it you - that's a good sign). Or maybe he would have tried to do this again - and that was probably your biggest concern.

But you know your boyfriend better than we can. You know what kind of person he is, and what you can expect from him - though his attempt to flirt someone on the internet (and having a fake account for that, and later doing it in front of your eyes?) must have been a nasty surprise for you 😕

So, it's up to you know. And whatever you decide, that'll be good. But it's your life, your experience, your way forward (or back), your responsibility to yourself and other people.
