Relationship Issues

Hi Everyone,

So I need an opinion in regards to the situation I am in. Here is the situation :-

There is this girl who I met through social media and we have been chatting and talking over calls for about a month and a half. I like her and have confessed my feelings as well and as it turns out she also likes me. Now here is the problem - she belongs to Pakistan and I am an Indian citizen. We both want to marry but the problem is once she marries me, she won't be able to see her family much because of the political rivalry between these two countries. And she does not want that and even I don't want that for her. But these things can be solved the main problem for me is that I somehow do not feep the kind of spark that I would have felt if it was a few years back and I somehow always am trying to find reasons to not be in love with her or something like that. I sometimes feel like I am just being stupid in trying to find problems that don't even exist for no reason at all because she is an amazing person, very mature and understanding.

@mikeross62

Knowing someone for a month or so, especially remotely, is not enough to get married. You need to know that person in person for months or better years to be sure.

You can never know a person enough. Plus, it's not like we'll be getting married anytime soon, but the point is to be sure if we even should get emotionally invested in the relationship or not. If you know India or Pakistan we do not get into relationships just for dating. We do it for eventually getting married and that is why I want to be sure if it's ok to be emotionally invested in the relationship or is it entirely a waste of time.

@mikeross62

You're right, I don't know those cultures. But it's not true that you waste time in failed relationships. You learn, mostly of yourself and communication, through relationships, failed ones may teach you more than the good ones. This is IMHO of course. Feel free to disagree.

@mikeross62 I think you should stick to your religion because right now things are going all well but marriage is really a big thing. Even you or that girl might not be able to adjust. The families may not be able to adjust. The thing is not about India or Pakistan...it is about the society you live in. And I suggest you shouldn't think about marriage at least before 3-4 years in a relationship.
