Break up and A failed engagement

Only 8 months ago I was happily engaged to the man that I considered my whole life, I built my future and my whole identity around him, I was 22 when I got engaged to him and he wasn’t 34… I never took the age gap seriously… I thought our love is stronger than the age.

But fast forward I realized his decision to get engaged to me was never out of love but out of logic and gaining statues… he left me two years after engagement, but left me shattered after he was making me cry every night, I’m from a conservative community and a girl that goes into a failed engagement rarely gets married. And now idk if I should hate him or not? I’m lost and feeling like I don’t deserve respect and love? Was it my bad? Am I taking the victim mindset or am I actually the victim… I’m lost…

@patientComputer2830

I've been there... My ex left me after we were seriously considering marriage. I was destroyed. It took several years for me to heal... And even now, it still hurts occasionally. I feel your pain, and I'm here for you. *hugs* <3

Thank you for sharing your story!! It makes me feel better knowing I’m not alone… society pressure is a lot and sometimes I just feel like I’m undesirable even though I’m so beautiful and lack nothing 😞 but he traumatized me…

It is not your fault and you should not feel bad. You have a good heart and will find love again and be engaged to the right person for you.
