Help / Advice for Older Sister Issues
Hi everyone, I'm 6 months pregnant and having a really difficult time with a family situation.
My older sister has been in constant crisis mode for years, daily calls about the same financial problems and relationship conflicts that have been ongoing for 15+ years now. She asks for advice but never follows it, and every conversation ends up being emotionally draining. I'm just tired atp.
I love her so much, but between my difficult pregnancy, parents in poor health, and her daily crises, I'm completely overwhelmed. I feel like I need to create some distance to protect my own wellbeing and focus on my own family, but I'm scared of hurting her feelings.
Has anyone dealt with a similar situation? How do you set boundaries with family members who are struggling when you're also going through a lot? I feel guilty even thinking about stepping back, but I'm exhausted and don't think this is healthy for me or my baby.
Any advice or just knowing others have been there would be so helpful. Thank you ❤️

I'm sorry you are going through this!
I know only too well how it feels.
Draining.
Guilt.
Shame.
Worry.
Resentment.
You help all the time, but its not reciprocal .
It's expected because you only say yes
Because you care.
That's taken advantage of.
When you set boundaries, they rail against it, because it's inconvenient for them.
But it becomes easier with practice to say no .
You have to be firm.
You know what youve done for her up to now .
You deserve to be enjoying your pregnancy, worrying about you and focusing your energy on your baby!
She needs to stand on her own two feet!
It doesn't make you less as a sister!
