A bad day
Today my mother told me that I'm a disappointment. I discovered self harm today. I never had a mind for hurting myself, i could never cut. But in a fit of rage i hit myself with a plastic hanger, and realized it felt good. And i hit myself over and over until the hanger was broken. I beat myself today, thinking of all the beatings i received as a child. Today is not a good day.
@2ManyThings
What shall I tell you.
I'm a Christian - The Bible tells: Even if your mother forgets you I (God) will never forget you.
Jesus Christ loves you - he even died on the cross to show you his love for you.
I hope you can get counselling - you need it - you are at a very bad place.
I am very sorry that you are going through this. As someone who has stood in those same shoes albite another reason for turning to self harm I understand how you feel. The best thing I found that helped was to find someone to talk to so that
my feelings didn’t just dam up inside until it got to the point of no return. It’s not easy but well worth trying to find something more constructive and less destructive. I hope you feel better soon
@2ManyThings,
I’m so sorry you are going through all this. How can your own mother even say something like this. But apparently it does happen a lot. My mom is the same way with me now always trying to say hurtful things just to try to put me down. At first I must say it did hurt and it got me down like she wanted me to. But now that I moved away from her and currently not living with her any more has taught me to be stronger and don’t pay attention to what others tell me including my own mother. Not sure if you are living with her or not. But if you are I know parents always try a way to make you feel bad.but that doesn’t mean you go out there and try to hurt yourself please don’t do this. I know it’s hard but try to love yourself and try to ignore. I hope that by now you are doing much better i wish you all the best and I hope you are safe.
I hate that you’re going through this. I’m having issues with family now too. Truth is we really have nothing to prove to our families. We deserve to be loved and cherished just for who we are not our accomplishments or “state of deserving.” In abuse situations, parents conveniently overlook their responsibility in the aftermath that bears out during our adulthood.
I'm sending you virtual hugs. You are never a disappointment no matter what anyone says. Your life is yours alone to navigate.
