Existing - not living
I've been "existing" for years - just going through the motions. Rarely truly living. It's been my default for so long that I don't even feel horribly unhappy - just a void.
100% there! No joy in anything anymore and isolating more and more. Doc's been having me try some different meds that help some, just gotta find the right fit. It's not our fault we feel this way. Our joy receptors might have been that way for too long and actually shut down. Anti depressants try to correct that. Just know that you are not alone.

Hi,
I know the feeling, yuk huh
..............and we know that's a time in our lives that we need to shake things up, make some changes, grasp for a new perception and stand out of our own way. I kind of did that these past three years, I went from having no help to getting service connected, a new apartment, and a team of mental health and social services people. I take the meds they prescribed and no longer try to find excuses on the internet for not taking them lol
My only advice is to take a few deep breaths and start writing down all the different services you can find online and elsewhere. Change is scary, but it is when we are outside of our comfort zone we perform the best.
Blessings, Day
@abstract25711 “Rarely truly living…”
So, there are rare time when you’re truly living. What changed during those times?
What does it mean to “truly live?”
I totally get the not feeling horribly unhappy. It’s like a roller coaster I can’t get off of at this point. I am so sorry you’re feeling this way.
@abstract25711 I know the feeling (or to be precise, the lack thereof). It seems to be a basic mode of life for too many of us...
You know people find meaning in. Incredible quotes. Just a space where you can connect with peoples best quotes.
And if you find you are feeling more than physical in that space awesome. Thats the medicine of quotes
You may even start journalling or jotting down some of your own. Doesnt have to be long.
You may even want to just burst forth in song and dance, awesome.
We are clearly more than the physical. Otherwise we wouldnt have thoughtsor emotions.
Forme thats theanswer to taking care of your spiritual self. And some quotes can be found in Proverbs or Psalms or Ecclesiastes or the New Testament. Let your bible reading be enriched if it leads you to that.
For those famous peoplehad a way to connect with the universe i feel we're only learning now.
Be blessed abstract one
Are you abstract by nature a lateral thinker?
And those numbers hit too close to home lol

I have been feeling this way too. I don't think I actually remember what happiness feels like.
Have been feeling as though am loosing friends, an ex who always came runing right back, and this does feel strange. U keep wonderibg whats happening to me!! Perhaps we need to make changes in our minds, in our lives. I can understand how you feel. But be gentle on yourself. Talk to God as that is what I do. He will show you paths in various ways and or signs. It works, it truely does. We are never alone. Start with making small changes in habits and these little habits will take you a long way. Changing your way of thinking can be a start. Give you a chance and know You are wonderful person. Much love and blessings 💙🙏
Oh my god that's terrible.
When I go into that state of mind it feels like a betrayal because it sets off so many fears and doubts like frikkin fireworks!!!!
I think to myself 'how DARE you waste your precious time on this earth not engaging with it in an authentic and trustworthy way?!!! No one wants or is going to want to be around!!! You're acting like some stupid silly billy wandering around on your last brain cell in some zombie-like state'!!!
Cue pity party and poor coping mechanisms.
And I have some kind of belief that says because I'm over 35 and descended from hardworking and amazing people that changed the face of the world to this day I should be better by now and conclude I'm just horrifically flawed and won't last the day!!!!!
And as I crawl into my black sheep scapegoat outfit I almost weep or do weep because a small part of me does know better and knows my parents love me and just wants love like everyone else and to be in a sequin, bedazzled and light-up jumpsuit instead.
Yet here I am drinking black coffee in the land of milk and honey, attending meetings on zoom pants-less and unable to follow a string of thought more than a couple meters.
