Has the holiday season changed for you at all with age?

Hey all,

At my age now (and not having kids of my own), I've noticed that I almost have to make a concerted effort to get in the holiday spirit of things. Or else, I feel like I just end up treating the holidays like any other day.

Which I find kinda ironic as the holidays (in my mind) are meant to change up the status quo and just be special. But, I find myself, as I age, to still be somewhat consumed with the daily grind of life--even at the end of the year.

Has the holiday season changed for any of you as you've gotten older, or have your feelings during the season pretty much remained the same?

Any tips/ideas/stories would be appreciated! :)

I hear you! I think with our busy lives and the constant stress on time, the holidays can definitely get lost in the shuffle. Make time for yourself though, take a break if you want to, but most importantly, don't feel the pressure of having to meet the expectations of what the holidays should be. The last thing we need is more pressure in our lives lol :)

You definitely make a great point about not putting more pressure on myself. I think, subconsciously, I've had this pressure (probably for years) to act or feel a certain way just because the holidays are here, haha.

Hopefully going forward I can just focus on having a good time and being around the people that mean the most to me. :)
