I am new to this 7 cups but I figured I would try it out. I have a question. I believe my husband is a narcissist. We have been together for 15 years we have been married for almost a year. Things were very bad 2 years ago and I left. I lost my happy . I didn't even know myself. It was horrible! With time and space I realized that I had no boundaries and questioned if I made him that way. He moved across the country to me and the kids(3of them) and we worked on a lot of our issues. Now 9 months later things are going right back to the abusive disregard and constant control.

My question is were the behaviors really fixed or just covered up.

How the he'll do I protect myself from going to that dark place I was 2 years ago.

Is there n e hope or am I just doomed to an eternal life of disfunction.

Has n e one come back from something like this?

Where do I start to fix this

I’m sorry you’re struggling. Have you tried couples therapy? Sometimes when you try to fix things but the mindset and relationship is the same, then things can’t get better, and it’s like jumping back into the same situation. A lot of people need that outside person to be able to help.

I hope things do get better for you.

please if he is abusive though, I would seek help immediately

sending you love ❤️

Hi, I'm sorry about your situation. From what you've written, it seems like you're putting in a lot of effort to make your marriage work. "Were the behaviors really fixed or just covered up?" ... I think if you still find yourself in this situation, it wasn't quite fixed yet. Maybe he is really trying, and couples therapy might be useful for that, but only if you both say you really want to work to make your marriage work and both of you know how to recognize your relationship's issues. Whatever happens, know that you are not stuck for life in this situation, if that is not what makes you happy. It will be difficult and will take a lot of courage, but it's up to you to change your life for the better. Good luck, I understand this is not easy and we are here for you.
