I’m 42 years old , and I’m dating someone who is 27 years old. How dI I deal the pressure and social backlash?

@neatLion5470

ignore it, both adults and she's not a new 18 year old one

if it works it works

Haters gonna hate @neatLion5470

it's not just a clever saying. 😉

there will always be people who judge, but consenting adults are consenting adults.

I know it's hard but ignore it, they are not living your life & if you are happy with them that's the most important, 15 year gap at 42 & 27 is nothing

@neatLion5470 you're dating her not the society....if it works for both of you then it's no one else's buisness. Nothing can affect you unless you allow it. Stay true to yourself. If it's too much for you to handle now....talk to your partner. It'll get better. Best of luck!

If I were in your shoes I would use any perceived or actual challenges/questions as an invitation to explore my own knowing and understanding about me, my partner and the relationship (as a private process, not something to share with whomever is questioning you). This reflection could be a lovely way to create surety and security for you and your relationship because the more you’ve done the “work” of questioning and answering, the more you will transmit that grounded certainty to others (this type of reflection is something that serves ANY relationship!). I’ll also add that I’ve seen relationships thrive that have an even larger age gap!
