Turning 40, recently diagnosed ADHD - anyone else?
I’m looking for other women who were diagnosed late in life with ADHD. It’s been very eye opening for me.

Hi there! I know you posted this in the 35+ forum, but I also wanted to share a link to the ADHD forum as well

The more resources the better! And 7cups has so many amazing resources!
Hope this helps! All the best to you❤️

I was in my late 30s when I received my diagnosed four years ago. All my "quirks" made since.
Concerns of memory loss and forgetfulness led me to a psychologist, who over a series of sessions that included cognitive tests and family/friend assessments made the diagnosis.
Hi. I was diagnosed with ADHD in adulthood.
Hey, it took me a while to get back to you. Of course.🤦🏻♀️ mid thirties here. I identify as a woman but my idea of woman is non binary and has little to nothing to do with the current patriarchal version of what is woman or feminine. I am a female by birth. As such I believe I was overlooked for diagnosis of adhd. Therefore, I have yet to be diagnosed. In fact I've just started the process. I always knew I had to work 3x harder then my peers and after high school I quickly "fell behind". I'm just using this time to piece together my past, clean up the mountain of a burnout mess and find a way to love myself. I just want to find a community that isn't changing me to enter and search/find support. Glad to see you here 💜
Hi, I’m also turning 40 soon and just recently was diagnosed with inattentive ADHD. What a journey! Still going through the process to accept it, although I suspected that I had it way before the diagnosis. Would be great to connect with women who are experiencing similar journeys because it’s been a really tough few month ever since the diagnosis.
@niceOak5228 I was diagnosed last November, just a few months after turning 34. So many more things make sense now since the diagnosis and even though it's tough trying to figure out how to work with ADHD, there is a sense of relief.
Quite a number of people are being diagnosed in adulthood and that's a bit comforting to know. Hope your journey is going well!
Me too I got doagnose mid uni whan I was 27 . Is hard also answer a lot of issues I had. Meds are good help a lot

It's good to see your post. My daughter was diagnosed with adult ADHD and I would appreciate any insights into the experience of dealing with ADHD late in life.
Thanks for your candor and willingness to share.
Hi, 39 female here. I'm pretty sure I have ADHD.
I can relate to so many of you. What are some coping mechanisms to deal with it besides meds?
