You what is opposite of love? Its not hate, its indifference. When you feel like you don't even exist for someone and that my friends is worse than hate. So if someone disrespects you or says hurtful things to you the best wound to their hearts is not replying back with hate but staying silent and showing it does not bother you.

Fix this principle from now on :

It doesn't bother me!

Many say that the opposite of love is fear, but maybe in this case, it's fearing indifference.  If wounding another's heart is the motivation behind indifference, it's not indifference

I don't feel the need to be indifferent.  I also cannot be in control of other people's actions and judgments towards me.  I can choose my reaction, which is all I can control.  Indifference is just one choice.  I can also choose to care about what the other person is feeling, even if it currently is being expressed in negative ways.  I can look past their offensive behavior and try to determine what caused the pain that led to their actions.  Then I can choose to look for ways to help them heal.

I can accept their feelings without supporting their unacceptable behavior.  I can choose to remain calm and rational.

I can respond with any number of choices, not just indifference.  Being "in control" can only be self-directed, but that form of control (anger, indifference, sensitivity, empathy, etc.) can make a huge difference in the outcome of an event.
