@MsDolphin age is just a number. More your motivation and willing for this change; There are so many famous people who started with their career later in life. Everything is possible.

Hello, I did a career change; not at that age, but still. I think 35 is a good age to start again! Also, when I started my second career, I felt the difference in maturity, and I feel I did better in school due to this. I already had critical thinking, time management, and study habits which helped me to make the best of it. I wish I was already a professional in mental health, but I'm glad I started a career that I like with these qualities.

I did law school, worked as a lawyer, and currently, I'm in the psychology track (counseling, neuro & clinical). If you want to talk, reach out, I love this topic 😊

@MsDolphin Yes, actually I am switching between white-collar office jobs and blue-collar, more physical jobs, or the combination of both, every 3 to 10 years. That is good for my health and makes me feel fulfilled (simpler jobs usually mean more time for the family or hobbies).

Telling the truth, all of my dream jobs (three or four so far) came to me after I turned 40.

Dolphin? I have switched careers when I was in my late 40s it was not my plan, but that’s what happened. And once I post these replies, I never know how to find them again. Hope that helps from an old guy!

I never actually had a career. I am trying to go back to school for another degree. I am also trying to find work. I supposed I am trying to switch careers in a sense now and do different work than I did before. I am trying to be open to doing something different than my last job. I want to work and be able to provide for myself better and maybe even do more someday. There’s a lot of competition in terms of jobs where I live and the rent is one of the highest markets. It is very cutthroat where people do anything to get ahead they can. I would like to have a career yes, but I would like a lot of things that I don’t have. I just am trying to go back to school and find a job again for now. It is difficult to survive in this world. I wish human beings were just better with each other. But I know that can’t really happen I guess.

Yep, just started an 8 year specialization in university. I'll hopefully have a PsyD or PhD when I'm 42 or 43. For me it was a no brainer, another 30 years before I can retire, and its a matter of what I want to do with that time. I want to use that time wisely and to best suit me, because time flies no matter what you do with it.

My father switched at 40 years old going into study part time. And I can tell you from observing him and how he acts now that it was the best decision. He is so much happier in the new field.
