Creating your own happy

One of my favorite quotes is “happiness is an inside job.”

Even when I’m feeling my worst, I know I can spark happiness within myself when I’m ready to pursue it and put the work into being happy again.

What actions, activities, or processes help you create your happiness?

For me, a simple joy is caring for my loved ones and my animals. Providing kindness, care, and compassion to others helps me create my happiness.

What does creating your happiness look like for you?

@RainnaO

Looking after my family is what brings me the most happiness, knowing they are happy, is all I want 💚🤗

@RainnaO       I partly agree with this, while also believing that external factors do influence our happiness. When most of our time and energy go into work, the time left afterward is often spent simply recovering from that exhaustion. This can leave very little space to actively create happiness. I think many of us share this feeling of burnout, and recognizing it may be the first step toward finding gentler, more sustainable ways to care for ourselves and rediscover joy.

This probably sounds weird to some but being selfish and looking after my needs which I usually neglect because I'm catering to others, forms at least a part of my happiness.

Being creative, gaming and helping to ease the burdens from others makes up the rest, whether it's listening or problem solving, suggesting or making them laugh.

As someone that grew up learning that our own needs are not important, it took me a long time to realise how stunted my growth was, until I started being more self nourishing :)
