All time low
I hope it's okay to write here, because I'm in my twenties. I feel like I threw away my life and now there's no hope in the future. I'm having money issues, I quit university to do an internship so I can earn more money, but I have no luck so far. My grandma just died recently and I can't pay my driving lessons, which means for me that I can't continue, so I have to pay even more money. My family keeps asking me if I've gotten an internship yet or if I have my driving licence yet, needing to always answer it with no. It's frustrating.
I am 43. I felt many times throughout the years feeling like I threw my life away. I failed school many times - both as a teenager and adult. It's not over. I went back to school at 36, graduated from university at 40, and started law school at 41. I feel now way more hope than I ever felt it my 20s. Life can be hard. Being an adult can be hard. There's hope, there's help, and there's more to look forward to. I still struggle, but I can see the progress I've made through the years. Try not to worry about family expectations. I spent years trying to make others happy, but in the end, they weren't happy and neither was I. Is there anyone who can help you with the money troubles while you work on getting the internship? Do you have any other options for work? Maybe just something more basic while you continue looking for what you want?
