Hello everyone..any tips/suggestions to control anger? When you are in the moment and are constantly lashing out how to stop at that time so that the damage is controlled?

You could be depressed so you’re lashing out. Irritability and being on edge is a sign of depression. Try to respond and not to react I know easier said than done. I have temper anger issues too so I hear you. I try to count to 5 before responding. Learn your triggers too.

Hi! I was taught to count to 10 before responding. For me, it is more like 10 000! I have trained myself to remove myself from the situation and breathe deeply and wait some time, sometimes I found it can take days even before I felt up to talking. If I can't remove myself straight away, I learned a trick to take ten deep diaphragmatic breaths before I speak. I keep track of counting on my fingers, just focus on my fingers and breathing. During that time I try to find some empathy for the other person, as I am sure they have their own problems and worries which led them to behaving the way they did (that made me angry).
The ABCDE model of cbt helps me also, you can Google the steps. I write it all out and it helps me to process why I get angry and how to make changes in my thinking.
