Emotional support
39+ in a marriage that is devoid of emotional support for different reasons. As to not burden my spouse or anyone else without the capacity. Seeking a buddy, friend or group of folks for those tough times. Also willing to be an ear and reciprocate.
Hi, I'm 31 but my marriage is struggling right now. I feel responsible, because my husband always has to deal with my mental illness. It has put tremendous stress on our marriage, and we have lost almost all romantic connection. I don't even like to sleep in the same bed anymore.
@AtroposMarra I am here becuase I am a spouse of someone with a mental illness and it is just difficult for both sides sometimes. I wish there was a playbook for how to improve things during those difficult stretches. I can't imagine what my wife is going through and want to be there for her, but sometimes I just don't have anything left. I feel drained. The good times are really good. The difficult times are really difficult. But, it is not your fault!
I'm married for about 20 yeare now. At our beginnings, I thought we'll grow old happily together, never have I imagined that in about 20 years I would regrate my life with him, and he seems to regrate it as well.....I complained to some listeners about it, try talking to one if you still haven't. There are also support chats, I personally don't participate in them that much, just read what other people has to say, in a way it helps me to remember that I'm not alone. And ofcourse if you'd like exchanging here in your thread I'll come back often we can chat about it, cry together 😅 and help eachothers here
