Father's Day
As father's day approaches closer I get anxiety more each day. My dad and I don't have the best relationship and the pandemic has driven a wedge between us even more. He is super paranoid and thinks everyone must get vaccinated. (Everyone is entitled to there openion) I will never get the shot, I don't do shots of any kind. Major fear of needles. We fought about it and I have not spoken to him since January on his birthday. I have already had Covid as well as my son. I am going to go see him Sunday because it's the right thing to do. I am not mentally ready for the day I see him again yet.
sounds tough im sorry to hear that
@TheDude0156 I'm sorry to hear about your relationship with your father. You're right, everyone is entitled to their opinion about pretty much anything. I don't blame you at all for not wanting the vaccine. It's your body, your choice and if you had the virus already, it's my understanding that you have some immunity and if your father had the shot he should be safe. Maybe try to avoid the conversation when or if it comes up. I know some people can be persistant though but maybe you can gently guide it away from those kinds of conversations. Maybe before you get out of the car, take a few deep breaths and remind yourself that you can leave at any time. You're allowed to have boundaries with him. I wish you the best!
Take care!

Just tell him your vaccinated - sometimes small white lies are easier than an argument. Focus on trying to rebuild your relationship instead
