Going to the doctor at our age
Hey all,
As someone who has a checkup in about two hours, I thought it would be timely to write this post down. As we all know by now (😅) our bodies do age. And with that, can come more checkups and things to check on.
How do you all deal with this reality as well as managing any anxiety (or other feelings) associated with doctors' visits?

This is such a great question! Personally, I try to think about going to the doctor like taking care of my car. It needs routine maintenance by a mechanic to last and be in good condition for safe driving. Our bodies are similar, we need to see the doctor to be sure that we are keeping ourselves in the best possible condition to be able to live a healthy, happy life. I also remind myself that if I stay on top of these appointments, I will have less to worry about for the next one lol. I'm proud of you for taking care of yourself :)

That is a really great analogy, especially when you consider that our bodies are basically vehicles themselves that house everything inside that enables us to keep on going and living.
My friend, Michael, has a great saying about how he takes care of his body. It goes something like this: "I try to look at everything that I'm now currently doing for my body as an investment in its future, 20-30 years down the road."
I can't say that I'm personally at that level yet, but I'm giving it my best shot. :)
