Letting go of a friend?
hello there, so I had just confessed for the 2nd time to my crush/bestfriend. the first time i did was almost a year ago, we started of as gaming friends and he was my junior in university, I didn't like him at first, but then he grew on me.
we got so close, then i decided to confessed, because i wanted to know where the relationship was going. He said he didn't reject me, he just don't want to be involved with any romantic feelings for now. So i accepted that and we decided to be friends. But after i confessed, we became closer than ever, we met every 2/3 days, we text everyday, he sends selfies and songs to me (i never send any selfies to him tho because i thought that was wrong, we weren't in any kind of romantic relationship)
since he was my junior we are in different group circles. Then he started to get mad over little things that I didn't told him. And starts telling me i was a mistke. But he wasn't even my boyfriend why does he wants to know everything.
so i confessed again, and asked him again about his feelings. He said i was his bestfriend. He asked me, if he rejected me, we can't be bestfriends anymore? Then i said, of course we can. And i told him we need to be clear about our relationship, because i was hurt by his words and we can't keep doing this. And finally he clarify saying he still wasn't ready and he doesn't want anything. He even said to not talk to him anymore.
i am so confused. was i wrong for wanting to define the relationship, let it be friends or lovers. I don't care what our relationship was, i just want us to know our status so that i can take care of my heart. So now I'm also losing a friend. I begged him to not broke this off but he didn't reply. So what should i do? Should i just let him go? Was i wrong? What can i do to make this better? It hurts more that im losing a friend than getting rejected.
You shouldn't have to convince a guy how great you are. He should already know it.
If you want more and he doesn't it would probably save you some time and heartache if you let him go now. That's what I've learned from experience anyway. Good luck to you whatever you choose.
