cant shake the loneliness this past week. I don’t have friends and I spend all my time by myself. My depression has been really bad to the point of just wanting to not stick around anymore and I have no one to talk to or spend time with to get away from this feeling

You're not alone. I feel lonely too. I used to have two friends I would hang out with but had to end those relationships because they weren't healthy for me. I just joined 7 cups recently because I didn't have a support system outside of my therapist. I appreciate the support here on 7 cups and I hope it helps me to heal on my journey. I am an incest survivor and still get flashbacks and sadness from this past trauma. I hope that some day, I can let it go because it's been holding me back in some ways. The one productive thing I do now is study Hindi language. So, I am making progress. Hope this helps.

Don't be sad. The fact that you can lose it now means that she doesn't belong to you in your life, just as you try to catch a dream that doesn't belong to you. What belongs to you belongs to you after all. Cheer up. Come on, even if no one loves you, you should love yourself.

Hi, I also feel lonely a lot. I have never been much of a people person. I try to be friendly but it never seems to go anywhere. I have yet to figure out how to make friends. I usually feel awkward in social situations anyways.

I have had a few friends over the years. But, never a group of people. I don’t think I’ll ever achieve that although it would be nice.

I was married for 17 years. She was my friend and confidant. I spent all of my time with her and the kids, other than work of course. I don’t think she would’ve had it any other way. I was happy with the one person. We had a couple people who came around over the years but nothing consistent.

Now that that is over, I’m learning to be alone. I’m trying to cope with spending all my time alone. I listen to music way too much. I work way too much. It’s a balancing act and I’m not very good at it. It’s been a few years now and I haven’t made much progress.

@orangePineapple6227

Sounds like me, just without the ex-wife and kids. I've had a few friends over the years, but generally fail in making them. Dunno why

Hey

I feel you

I’ve been there

I have had to work really hard to get some friends. They aren’t always there when I need them, but I get invited to stuff now, so that fills some of the time

have you tried to make new friends?
