When in a long-term relationship there are highs and lows.

How do you know when to keep fighting through the lows?

@Nwill84

This is a great question!

For me, when it comes to addressing this (in past relationships), I've had to make sure that the relationship itself was a sustainable one.

But after that, yeah, every long-term relationship does have its low points. I know I've heard from people a lot older than our age group (who have been or were married for decades) say things to the effect of:

"Looking back, it was in our struggles during which we grew the most and had the most fun." Now, I'm not their age(s), and I certainly don't know if the latter in that statement would always be true for me, haha, but I feel like I can truly see the logic there, nonetheless.

That said, yeah, I think you just have to remember the commitment to the person and especially, why you made it in the first place. Just my two cents. Again, great question!

Well said and I agree. However, sometimes the lows happen often and seem really low. That’s when it’s time to consider what may or may not be best for yourself. Sometimes it’s not the relationship.
