Looking for friendship
It's been a while I haven't made any friends and at times it's very difficult to be alone and not to speak out of your heart. I tried to make new friends but it doesn't seem to be going good so I would love to make new friends.
I was in the same state. It helped me not to think that my goal is to find a friend. I just started getting to know people, through school, work or through other friends, maybe parties. I exchanged numbers, social media and just asked if they want to hang out. If they wouldn't make effort that's okay. I can't force people to care, I just look around to see who's treating me good and I would treat them good too. Now I have good friends I text and meet frequently. And all that, because I told myself that I'm not looking for a friend, soon you'll make friends without realising.
Have you tried doing volunteer work or going to events on Meetup? Are there groups you could join surrounding your interests?
In the past 2 years, I’ve felt similar. Unfortunately, I’ve had a good number of friendships that have ended. It was upsetting at times, but looking back it was for the best. Some of these “friends” were quite toxic, narcissistic. It’s made me value the smaller number of quality friendships I do have. And I’ve been more cautious and careful with any new people.
Hello,
it’s really nice to meet you I want to be your friend trust me i feel the exact same way you are it’s really hard at times when you feel alone and have nobody to tally to. I had many friends myself not on this site but other media’s and they are hardly even there for you they just talk to you for a moment but after a while they are gone. Who knows what is going on maybe they are busy but I’m always here open to talk to anyone and meet new people as well.
Hope you're doing OK. You're not alone.
There is a strange beauty in being alone I love the Netflix show Alone
When we’re alone silence may begin to speak
It feels so much harder to make friends as an older adult, right? That's where I'm at too.
I feel your pain. It sure does suck. It's difficult to try some of the suggestions people give as I'm always at work or with my partner. I just don't connect with people
