Overwhelmed & exhausted
Some days it just seems we are being pulled in so many directions with work, family, school, home. It can feel overwhelming. For me, sleep is the thing I will sacrifice to be able to juggle it all and do it in a manner that represents me best.
But some days, like with holidays approaching....it is A LOT
-Any tips or suggestions for how to find healthy balance among the many priorities?
-Any one else feeling an endless to do list ahead of them everyday?
Thanks for letting me vent :)
@halcyonCloud2036 Yes, yes, and yes.
The two biggest techniques that I have found helpful are:
*do a "brain dump" either on paper or on the computer - thoughts, feelings, to-do list items, whatever. Just getting it out so you don't feel like you have to "hold on" to it really clears my mind a lot.
*Set just ONE priority. The MOST important thing to do each day. That isn't to say that you will only do one thing each day. But set the most important thing, make time to do it, and celebrate getting it finished.
I know they are really simple things, but I stick with the simple stuff better :)

Hello, How are you? I do understand. I am currently overwhelmed with it all... But keeping it all together.

I've found that sometimes, ironically enough, that I have to actually advocate for myself (to others) when it comes to taking the self-care time that I need.
When we have so many things on our plates, especially things that have to be done, it's so easy to lose ourselves in those tasks. And, in my case, it's even easier to lose myself to the whims of others. Which is tricky, because there is an authentic part to my personality that genuinely loves to make others happy. But...I also have to be aware that I'm not going overboard to the extent of forgetting my own needs.
Most of the time when I do that, I will sacrifice my time and energy when I know that I am running low. And the older I get, the less I can afford to do that. 😅
