The Joy is Gone
Hello all,
I am a 38 year old wife and mother to an autistic child and I work full time as a vet tech. I am also autistic/ADHD myself. Recently I’ve been feeling like there is no joy in my life anymore and I have nothing to look forward to. I have struggled most of my life with depression and anxiety so that’s probably playing a big role in how I’m feeling. My daughter has had behavioral challenges most of her life and I find myself less able to cope with them lately. I also feel less connected to my husband and burnt out from my job too. Just feeling pretty alone right now.

All of the things you mention are heavy, and it's no wonder you feel joyless. Having a history of depression, or a tendency toward it, might make us more vulnerable to feeling worse, or feeling less resilient, when daily life gets to be too much.
Disconnection and burnout are serious topics and they deserve to be heard and explored, even if they're unpleasant to face or contemplate. I hope you will continue to share how you feel.
Life always have hope, a long ago I was diagnosed with ADHD , but with reading and gathering knowledge I overcome my deficiency and live a manageable life, challenges cone to those who are able to handle. You are not alone in this journey. Feel free to be in touch
