When does this pain end?
I feel like I've worked my whole life for this marriage. Only to find out how stupid I was for so long. I feel so destroyed, humiliated, and alone.
Marriage is such a weird thing. In so many cultures, it feels like it's expected to fulfill your every emotional need, and that's just not possible for one person to be to another person.
I'm sorry you're feeling so alone. Marriage can be great when it helps you grow and feel supported, but when it's bad, damnation is it bad.
You were never stupid for trusting and caring for someone. If your spouse betrayed that, that's on them, not you, for not appreciating what you gave. No one person can be expected to sustain and fix a relationship.
Just sending compassion your way. It's awful when something we count on top help lift us up causes pain instead.

Hopefully a Phoenix can rise from the ashes of expectation being alone has its beauty as well it’s more subtle. The work is in loving ourselves not just another. If we love ourselves enough we know we will always be loved in various forms of one sort or another.
