Where is everybody?: The sequel
Hi Cuppies 👋 It's your old pal, SweetPea here. Bored and lonely as usual. I'm having trouble viewing the "Where is everybody?" thread, so I figured I'd make a new one. I prefer to use the app instead of the website. On the app it stopped showing responses.
So here we are again, ready to turn up on a Monday afternoon (or Tuesday if you live in Australia).
Oh yeah...where is everybody?
True Story: Yesterday I was in the bread aisle of the grocery store when the cutest lil bird landed on a loaf of bread. Ahh, I said as it startled me. Then last night I had a dream that I had a pet bird. It was the most beautiful bright blue parrot. I thought the dream was odd because as much as I like birds, I could never own one. I'd feel guilty for putting it in a cage when they're meant to soar through the skies for miles.

I am sorry to say, I do own a bird. A budgie, to be exact. She has a swing, and a small ladder that she likes to sleep on. She's usually free to fly around the house as she wishes. She's been spending a lot of time with my house mate, in his office, sitting on his computer screen. Or on top of his headphones. Budgies are very social, and I think she finds company in us, even if we are not birds.
One time she even escaped (my mistake). It was like the tropics, that particular summer. She had a lovely escape over at a neighbouring building. Someone helped me locate her, so I could take her home. They don't have a natural instinct to migrate far away, luckily.
I don't know why I'm talking so much about my bird - lol. I chuckled when I pictured you being startled by a cute bird.
Aww, you don't have to say sorry for owning a bird. That was just my opinion. I'm sure you take good care of your little pet. That's good that it gets to fly around the house. And yes...it was scary as the cute lil bird on the bread flapped his wittle wings, just kidding lol.
This morning I went to Hardee's to get a sausage biscuit for breakfast and in the drive-thru there were two cute birds bathing in a water puddle. They didn't move so I blew the horn at them to get them to move. I didn't want them to get hurt. The lady in the vehicle ahead of me gave me a dirty look in her mirror and I felt like a jackass 😅 I was like Nooooo, there were birds in the way!

Birds are surprisingly great companion. Unless they are hand tamed, they may have some limitations to how they can interact with us, but there is definitely a lot of spirit in there! I find Dwarf parrots so fun to watch 😄

Me too, It’s one of my favourite scenes of the series I think, I like South Park, Archer, Rick and Morty also. I like good adult cartoons. Definitely prefer stuff that makes me laugh rather than drama and horror.
Although it's not on anymore, I liked The Boondocks for adult cartoons. For movies I like comedy and dramas better than horror. Actually I like older scary movies. These new horror films are too terrifying 😱

It's Tuesday here in the US. I live in Minnesota or as I like to call it...Minnesnowta. For some reason everybody here hates the snow, but I like winter. There's a quiet peace that opposes summer's LOUD kids playing outside, LOUD barbecues and LOUD fireworks.
True Story: So I had a CT scan the past Sunday and my daughter laughed at the machine because she said it looked like a giant donut. I've been craving donuts ever since. I finally got some today. Just had one for afternoon snack. It was delightful.
Ok, so it's a boring story, but it IS true 😄👍

I’m here 😊 just having a quiet night down under in my thongs… trying not to think about stuff that’s upsetting me which I cannot control or do anything about currently, and is just making me anxious… so trying to distract myself from myself unsuccessful so thought I would see what was going on with my 7cup peeps.

Totally understand that! Alright is good compared to bad, I like to say I’m managing things okay… it feels like the right statement, I’m never really okay but I manage it as best as I can.
If I take one of my “blue pills”….. well….🫣 I won’t share exactly what happens to me because that would be inappropriate 🤭🤭🤭😂🤣
Managing things sounds good. So if someone doesn't like what you're doing and asks to speak to your manager you can do a 360 spin and reply with, "I AM the manager!"

I'm currently disappointed about something that I can't control too. I've been trying to get my daughter a bike that they can put training wheels on and now the second bike I got won't work either. I guess my daughter is going to have to learn the hard way.

Hahahahah, I can definitely see myself rocking that! And for what it’s worth, one of my ex girlfriends gave me the nickname Snuffleupagus! Make of it what you may! I was like what the hell is a Snuffleupagus??? Quick google search 👀 and I took it as a compliment 😂. But those are amazing! Already have 7 pairs in my cart! One for each day of the week. 😂
Mr. Snuffleupagas is from Sesame Street, yes! I'm tall for a lady so I could be Big Bird (Snuffy's friend). And I think I'd laugh and probably kill the mood if I ever saw a man in elephant undies 😅

Well I’m pretty sure I’m confident enough in myself to pull off the elephant undies look… and hopefully maintain my focus through the resulting uncontrollable laughter upon presentation 😆. But I think I like the Rudolf ones better and being decorated like a Christmas tree like you said. Kinda like the finger puppet setup of the Rudolph ones… rather than elephant ones, which is more of a full mask setup with flapping ears off the sides isn’t the most appealing design if you are not going for laughs. The more finger puppet arrangement of Rudolf… along with the Christmas festive theme… just seems more classy and dignified for some reason 🤷♂️😂

Bike Update: I solved the case of the 20 Inch Bike That Couldn't Fit Training Wheels. Walmart bikes couldn't accommodate, so I had to empty my purse for a fancy shmancy bike from my local bike shop. Daughter is happy. I am Super Mama today. Win!
Awww you are an amazing Mum or I should say Mom! 😂. We don’t have Walmarts in Australia. If I visit The U S of A, I Definitely have to go shopping at 3am in the morning at Walmart in my PJs and ride a mobility scooter around buying Oreos, Twinkies and You-hoo like a real American 🇺🇸 🫡

Lmao! I shop at Wally World in the daytime, and I'd never go out in public in my pajamas or ride an elder scooter (until I'm an elder and would need one). I do like Oreos. You Got me there 😊 I have mint oreos in my pantry. We like to have them for bedtime snack. I don't drink Yoo-hoo. I drink chocolate protein shakes instead.

we don’t have many super stores like Walmart. We have a few Costcos but they are not very popular here. We have lots of big shops but more specialised and grouped together in big warehouses all next to each other.

Yes and Wally World is what some of us call Walmart too. If you come to the US, I'll take you to Wally World at 3am to go weirdo watching. Of course we'll have to dress the part too in our reindeer underwear and I'll wear ugly print pajama pants with fuzzy slippers and a classy Who Farted tee-shirt.

We have Halloween before that. What are we going to dress up as? I'm always a pirate lol. Last year I said, "Ahoy, you scurvy dog" to this lady's dog and she got so offended. @SweetPea321 haha, I haven't heard that before. Friday junior! Sometimes my kids call it Friday-eve. Today I have a day off work, because I reallllly needed a mental health break. I have some stressful things going on at home. I'm just trying to hold it together, and it has been difficult for me to sleep/relax.
Friday eve is cute too. Then you can say Merry Friday to each other on actual Friday. I'd take a mental health day if I could, but I work at home and the boss (my kid) doesn't allow me to take days off 😄
Sorry to hear that you're stressed. Can you try some guided meditation (lots of gm videos on YouTube) or listen to some calm music to relax? That helps me.

i can recommend Jason Stephenson and Michael Sealy on YouTube as my go to guided sleep meditation 🧘♂️. Pretty much if everything else is making me feel anxious I put this on in the dark on a low level that I can just hear and I find it calming. I like that they progressively pause talking for a period of time, longer and longer and you essentially fall asleep in those pauses with just the relaxing background music.
That's what I do...make people smile, except for my ex-husband, the Grinch. He was allergic to me 🤷♀️
I listen to Guided Relaxation by Randy Sharach at bedtime and sometimes Sleep Easily by Shazzie. I forget about my worries and drift off to Sleepybye 😴

Welcome to 7cups where we drink 7cups of tea and pee pee pee! I don't have any pets currently, but my daughter and I like to enjoy animals in nature. When we're in the car, we count the bunnies, squirrels and other animals we see. Sometimes we count cement trucks too. We always see alot of cement trucks for some reason.

I’m from Germany and I just remembered that I always wanted to complain myself about how german people are shown in hollywood movies. German people are either N@z1s, so stupid that they just can’t speek English nor German (for real though… if you watch a movie with a „german“ person in it and they SPEAK? For a german person it sounds like sjdghdjehddzdjjgwieuejen. I am not joking. And the ACCENT! Don’t get me started. NO ONE I’ve ever met has that kind of accent!) or we just have an ugly landscape (we have so beautiful places and cities and stuff. It’s so pretty here! Just show the old cities man! It’s not that hard!)

I think you're right about Germans in Hollywood movies. It's either nazis or idiots. My Dad speaks German as his second language and my grandmother Eleanor (May she rest in peace) spoke it as her first, but they were both born in the US. Our ancestors on my Dad's side were from Germany.

@SweetPea321 We don't have any cats right now either, although kid#2 dreams of growing up and being "a crazy cat lady", lol. Instead, we have a bunny.
My neighbor is a cat lady 😱 She has 6 cats and her home smells like she rarely changes the litter box. It's so strong of cat pee, I'm surprised she isn't sick. The last time she called me over (because she's diabetic and afraid she was going to pass out) she mentioned to me about a neighbor boy peeing in her flower bed and the size of his privates. I thought to myself, "Why go on about a little boy's privates." I haven't visited her since. Her home stinks and she creeped me out.
I had a bunny when I was young. Her name was Molly and I used to take her outside for hops instead of walks. Harness and leash like a doggie.

I don’t blame you.. also cat waste can be deadly to humans so she really needs to do something about that… Sounds like she has some mental health issues she is dealing with. But I definitely would be uncomfortable with her mentioning the unmentionable like that… something is wrong with her.

Yeah it’s a strange game! I can’t remember when I played it but definitely remember it. Waking up to everything being deserted and trying to work on what happened and trying to get out of a office of some sort… or was it a deserted police station or something. I have a vague memory of it being weird but might be mixing a few similarly weird games together.
