Still learning how to use this internet platform and navigate what's good help.

Hi @mytwistedsoul thanks for some good tips for anxiety moments and I hope you are travelling well/ok today.

Just trying to reach out

I'm still getting to know how this platform works so thanks for the insight.

@Willow79 Hey How are you? You're welcome! I hope some of those tips helped. It can be alittle like a mystery bag sometimes though with what works and what doesn't

It's really nice to see you around. It can take alittle to figure out how things work here because they seem to be making some changes and of course there's bugs they're working on too 😋

Everyone's really helpful though so any questions - just ask and hopefully we'll find someone with answers

Hi @mytwistedsoul thanks!

Yes I've found 7 cups surprisingly helpful and can be supportive, especially this year when I've needed the most support and it being being covid times on top of it all. So happy to stick around and check out what supports may be of help...... It seems to be an umbrella for lots of people going through so many things/ needing to recover and learn.

I am ok today thanks. Yes I agree we've all got to find some answers/support in our individual journey to health and recovery.

With anxiety yes it can be difficult to know what technique/ tested tools may work at any given time.... And different things work for different people. I see a certified therapist as well which is very helpful but extra supports is even better.

I like the balloon 🎈 metaphor you mentioned and would like to try that one :) I also came up with an anxiety metaphor using balloons last year, you actually reminded me, that I hadn't actually tried yet, it's to do with letting go of anxiety and grief.

And yes sometimes colouring designs can b very therapeutic sometimes- try it with music :) on and off I would do this even just to "zone out" from anxiety and depression/sadness.

Having crippling anxiety illnesses is tough, we are always having to maintain/ manage it, go through it, hope it doesn't destroy us coz it can feel that way sometimes,

But at the end of the day I think that everyone's journey is different and anxiety does not have to define who to we are.

Sorry about long message,

Enjoy your day @mytwistedsoul!

@Willow79 That's great! I'm glad you find this place helpful and with this covid thing - it just seems like more and more people end up being alone. I guess you could say that here is like a one stop shop. There's alittle bit of everything. Which is really nice because you never know what you might need from one day to the next

I'm definitely going to have to try coloring to music :) I do use the balloon one alot and for the past few weeks have started using PMR - progressive muscle relaxation. It takes awhile but after a few times it starts to help and my muscles start to relax

Anxiety is tough and so tiring some days and you're absolutely right - it doesn't have to define who we are :)

No worries about length ok? You're welcome to write as little or as much as you'd like and there's no time limits for when or if you reply back - Life happens 😋

Thank you! I hope you have a good day too!

Hi @mytwistedsoul

Thanks,

Yes finding the platform helpful, many things to check out and different resources for people Depending on where they're at

I've heard of dmr, you are right it takes a bit of getting used to and sometimes I forget to try it,

I'm glad it helps you to reduce anxiety :) 👍

if you are struggling to sleep this can help to relax a bit more at night. Depends on the person.

It's good to have a few things in place though.

Covid pandemic has definately affected everyone in some way, and shifted people's perspective on things. So hard to stay connected or even move on with things when stuck in a lockdown! I guess some social and support platforms have been people's go to which is good, whatever helps.

Here's to having more great days and less anxiety,

🌤️🙂

@Willow79 Hey :) Tbh - sometimes I forget to use it too or maybe I just get an attitude about it and figure it won't work. It does help at night though - because it's then that I notice just how tense my muscles are

There certainly have been a number of new platforms that have popped up - some better than others. It's funny though - more people seem to be searching for that kind of support and I seem to be shying away from it more - Idk - I just have bad luck sometimes when it comes to people - I think it's probably just me and the fact that I haven't been a very good person for people

I hope your week has started off with less anxiety and is going good :)

Hi@mytwisted soul

Yes normally I don't reach out to internet platforms much.

So it was a big step reaching out for help/support but I'm glad I have.

have been going through Some anxiety

But it's better today.

I'm sure you are fine with people,

Sometimes anxiety can tell us strange things when we are not feeling well.

I just take each day as it comes now.

Taking care of yourself is always a great step for anyone.

Everyone deserves to feel supported

All the best in anxiety management,

Don't forget to do something kind for yourself!
