Hi everyone! I hope you are all having a relaxing weekend!

I saw this quote and wanted to share it all with you to hopefully uplift everyone: "Stress is an ignorant state. It believes that everything is an emergency. Nothing is that important." -Natalie Goldberg

I like this quote because it enforces that what our stress is telling us is an emergency, usually isn't 95% of the time. A little stress is good sometimes to motivate us to get the important things, like work and school, done. I know how hard it can be to not let stress get the best of us, but it's important to remember that things happen for a reason and we can't control the past or the future. We can only worry about our present actions.

What does this quote say to you and what are some ways you can practice staying present and reducing your stress levels? Have a great weekend! ❤️

I totally agree, it's really easy to spiral into bad thoughts when stressed. Situations can become seem worse than it actually is. I think for that reason it's good to practice mindfulness and understand the true nature of how things are and being able to tackle things ahead.

@sunnyWriting4806 I totally agree! It can be really easy to look sight of the reality of the situation when we are caught up in the stress! I think it's really important to have those mindfulness skills to be able to step back and get a different perspective when we are feeling this way. 😊

What this quote says to me is that it is steeped in accuracy. Stress really does present this façade to us that seemingly everything falls under a time-crunch. Having lived that kind of life myself, I can attest to the fallacy of it as well as the effects that being stressed.

There are many times where I will have a talk with myself (literally regulating my self-talk) while letting myself know that my world isn't going to end if I don't give into the stress.

@sereneSunset26 I think grounding ourselves through self-talk can really really help! Stress is really difficult to deal with sometimes and it can seem to be the end of the world. Thank you for sharing!

You're welcome; thank you for sharing your thoughts as well!!

And yeah, I'll say again that grounding ourselves, especially to the point of being centered, is so important. :)
