Coping with stress... something everyone had or has to face at a point!

The problem is known: we live in an accelerated world, we are always breathless, running and inevitably the stress increases more and more. Often the same search for a way to lower stress increases it in a decisive way. The problem is that many proposed techniques require an effort, even of attention or organization, which, when it is worn out, cannot be done. For some, setting deadlines and schedules can help, but for someone else, this can generate more anxiety. So let's see what alternative we can find!

@BeyondTheInvisible thanks for this thread on coping with stress. It certainly is a factor in our lives.

Just dealing with over a foot of snow before winter begins can be stressful. When the snow stops the routines can help us get into that feeling of life is unfolding in a wonderful way.

@soulsings

Hello there Soul!

It seems like you had a lot of snow over there! I understand it can create issues on daily routines, hope everyone is safe over there!

Is there something you can enjoy about it, Soul? Do you like the scenery it creates? Is there a way for you to like more the warm inside house when outside it is all frozen?

Cheers!

enlightenedWhat may be the best way for you to cope with stress? The best way is to just ignore the stress, don't let it bother me.

enlightenedDo you need to reorganize your time or is it better for you to experience more me-time moments? I probably need to reorginaze my time. I have too many "me-time" moments as it is.

enlightened What do you feel to say about stress and the fact you have or had to deal with it? I am dealing with a lot of it right now. I am going to the place where the stress originates and will try to deal with it there.

@Offmytrack I've found that ignoring stress only works for a short time. Eventually it adds up, and something breaks. At least it did for me.

What causes you more stress in your current life? Was it the same in past or something changed?

Up until 2017 most of the stress came from work. After I retired, it's mostly been due to my wife's health, and money. Living in a country (the US) with a broken health care system doesn't help with either of those.

enlightenedWhat may be the best way for you to cope with stress?

I wish I knew. Reducing the amount of stress only works up to a point. So does developing plans to deal with contingencies -- knowing that I can handle problems when they come up helps. As long as new problems don't turn up, and of course they will.

enlightenedDo you need to reorganize your time or is it better for you to experience more me-time moments?

One thing that amplifies stress for me is procrastination; organizing my time would help some, but adding motivation would probably help even more. But even if I was using my time more efficiently, a lot of the problems would still be there.

enlightened What do you feel to say about stress and the fact you have or had to deal with it?

Stress is really difficult to deal with.

@stressBear

Hello Bear, thanks for sharing.

I am sorry to hear that your loved one has some health issue, that is something that can really cause to feel upset. Then if the thing is also reason of money issue, I cab understand it all becomes stressful.

Maybe something that we can do when nothing goes right and stressful life events pile up, would be to take some time to skip the focus in the positive one may see and be aware of.

It may be the fact one has a loved one or anything else, important is to find something that reduces emotionally all the negative that stress can cause.

When I mentioned "me-time" I was meaning exactly that: to find a moment to hold into something that is perceived as enjoyable and positive. It may be anything: a vision or reflection about something that is part of your life, something you can do....no specific rules for it, important is that it's something that works.

Best wishes and feel free to share any updating.

Didnt get approved for a house loan. The denial message came yesterday. The ramifications of that denial look like more upheavals for me personally, making goal-work harder for the distractions I'll have to tend to. Once again, money would solve this problem (rolling eyes).

So I need to put time into trouble-shooting ... and at the same time continue to bring my novel-writing stuff through me, health and goodwill through me also. This setback doesnt change the goal or the inclination to go for the goal but I feel stressed, irritated, annoyed, inconvenienced, all the same. angry
