How to develop the self-love that leads to a happier and healthier life.
- Put up boundaries with people in your life who are toxic.
- Develop healthy relationships with people who treat you well and build you up rather than tear you down.
- Stay away from negative self-talk.
- Get plenty of exercise each day to boost your mood and give yourself a way to release stress.
- Spend time outdoors or in bright light each day to help reduce depression and anxiety symptoms.

How are you developing self-love that leads to a happier and healthier life?

Thank you for this amazing thread!

How are you developing self-love that leads to a happier and healthier life?

Today I comfort myself much more when feeling sad or in pain and allow myself to just be without pushing to do any work which can be done another day. I also cut out toxic people in my life. Another thing is I am learning that it is okay how I am, I do not need to be the "tough" one (I'm more on the sensitive side) and neither the "perfect" one which is an illusion anyhow. So, it's about accepting your true self.

Good stuff! What if the toxic person is your significant other who refuses to acknowledge that he/she is a part of the problem?

LostTurtle22 Living with someone who refuses to acknowledge being part of the problem but blaming the other person for everything what is happening is very hard. To make a relationship work it needs 2 people being willing to put an effort into it. The information Havingfuninthesnow gave sounds very good to me and I would apply it the same way as with another person. I know it will be more intense and difficult since you're living under the same roof. Good self care is very important to find a balance and of course at one point asking the question "Do I want to continue this and can I find acceptance and still happiness" or "Is this destroying my life and do I need to reconsider my partnership".

Sorry that you are having that issue. It takes two to have a relationship. What my therapist is having my husband and I do is currently write out our ACT values and then trying to figure out how we are going to ACT of them and how we want the other person to ACT towards them. He isn't happy about doing his homework however it is helping the relationship.
